Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We have the forwards. Need a good half. Moses is the best of the available options and junior halfbacks need years developing even after they have debuted.

Your first four words are most pertinent, especially in regards to the previous couple of posts from @finnzo.

Will never be overly keen on Moses again for other reasons, and he is the ultimate flat track bully. Still, he is though perfectly suited behind a decent forward pack, which should be very much the case this season onwards for WT, and is easily the best halves option on the market.

I think his share price rose on the back of 2 games. Playing busted for Blues and he also stood up for Eels when a few of his teammates could have done better.

This is what I hate. We accepted Nofo for Overs, 500k + 5 years.

I am prepared to say "yes" to 5 years, but 5 years at 1 mil. I am prepared to say yes to 3 years at 1.4. With who we recruited we should not be signing these teamkiller deals.
Don't worry about the money, the CAP is going up heaps in the 5 years....$2.0m will be marquee wages in 5 years, which will make Moses money look paltry.

Blame the Managers....and a spineless NRL Hierarchy - they take on the RLPA but are gutless to take on the Managers...The players will get what they can, can't blame them MM is in his prime, his only shot to get a decent contract....
Don't blame Moses at all ..blame the hierachy of the game ...Super League still hangs over the game like a guillotine .....

He also has enough in him to tell the forward pack when they're not doing their job...
We could also use a bit of that, Could use a lot of his goal kicking....

Still a gazillion to one to turn his back on Parra though....
Can't help but feel we're just a little more leverage for him
And thats ok too - even if he stays with them on lower coin they still have to up their offer. Their cap is out of whack already - don't mind adding to that. And the egos at Parra - i can already imagine Gutho is whingeing about Browns deal.

100% look at the teams That went out and purchased experienced half cowboys and broncos both improved out of site

Look at the teams who got rid of experienced halfs knights and titans both went so far backwards

Mitch is just what we need plays the perfect style if attacking football sheens and benji will be looking for
That part is very true. Mitch is probably also the most capable half of playing a style of eyes up football whilst also getting a team around the park.

I highly doubt that would be the case. This season the cap had had its largest ever increase, completely out of nowhere. Players want the CBA to cover post retirement injury issues, they can't have that and also expect their own paychecks to double. NRL players are already overpaid

I wouldn’t trust him to win any game unless every card fell his way.
Downhill skiing coat tail rider.
You do realise that in game winning moments last year Moses was in positions to take a field goal or put a play on and the ball went to the left to Gutho / Brown from Mahoney. It isn’t all his fault that Parra sucked when it mattered. How about the deep kicks he put in for field position in the first 20mins of the GF? That game was a real arm wrestle but Penrith just had the class in the end to break away from the grind. I certainly don’t feel Moses went into his shell in that game, more so his support did.

If Wayne can get Dolphins to finals with that spine, it will be one of the greatest coaching achievements in the history of the NRL...
A spine of:
Hammer/Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow or Isakko at Fullback, Anthony Milford at 5/8 (who took Brisbane and Canberra to the finals), Sean O'sullivan and Jeremy Marshall King or Ray Stone at Hooker. Yes Halfback is a problem, though Wayne Bennett can coach that.

The bigger questions IMHO are around their Centers/wings. A forward pack that's 50% storm will go well. I honestly expect the Dolphins to be the dark horses of the competition.

Who would you trust to win us a big game mate....
I've watched time and time again our best ever players (Far better than Moses)
fail to win us big games....

Seen Benji Kick 1/4 against Parra for 8th spot in 09.
Benji and Farah couldn't close out the Roosters semi in 2010,
We had a tonne of possession in good ball against the Dragons the same year, And didn't bother with a feild goal (like Soward did as soon as he made range) to win the game.
I've watched them capitulate against the Warriors....
And go from premiership favourites to like 12th in 2012...

There's only 2-3 Halves in the game you can consider to "win" you a big game,
And they're mostly not for sale.... And have also come up short often in their own right.

Get the best tools you can - Will always give you the best shot at winning you can have.
True, but don’t spend massive money securing the services of an occasionally effective player. We have other positions to also strengthen.
Api can win us games and him in concert with Brooks Doueihi and Laurie…you never know.
