Earl , AD started badly, but did some good things, the whole side played well in this ambush. When you flog a side by 30 they all look like champions. Take a chill pill, there was much to like about the teams defence and ball work , but AD and others have not faced the acid test yet. You comparing Brooks to AD is common on the forum, and that's a shame, as they both play different positions, and there is no need for comparisons. It's just another form of Brooks bashing to heighten AD's worth. Let's judge the whole side fairly.

pretty damn confident Earl, if Moses is here in 2024 Brooks will be too
if Moses is not here in 2024 perhaps Brooks won't be either

Hmmmm.

So AD has a rough 15 minutes = shit player.

Brooks has a rough 80 minutes every week for a decade= future immortal.

Logical.


EDIT: I came to this thread ( before reading some insane comment on Brooks) just to say we don't need Mitch, save the money and buy a trophy cabinet big enough to hold a 10 year dynasty worth of silverware that's incoming.

If it is based on performance no problems but if it is based of getting Moses I hope we don't get him. I think you are wrong but I'm an optimist and I expect Sheens and his coaching staff are professionals.

Any comments stating that we need to sign Brooks to get Moses shows a lack of integrity on the part of our management and Issac Moses. I have no reason to think that this is true and if it is we should sack them now.

This isn't really true from my perspective. We are trying to sign Moses as our halfback. Brooks was playing 6 basically all last season. Doueihi wants to play 6. It's the same position.

I'm not bashing Brooks. I'm stating that the idea which is common on this thread that if we sign Moses we have to extend Brooks is madness. They should be competing for one spot and the best player should get the job.

I follow the Tigers , i want all to perform. Future immortal ? Bad game every week ? Keep making trash up, with nothing based on truth, or learn comprehension.

Fair point. To be a fair comparison we need to wait until Brooks is part of a team that " flogs a team by 30" and then compare the two.

every player has a right to ask and know who they are playing with, that is very very normal
All Moses is doing is wanting to know who his halves partner will be

Exactly... The other will need to fall on their sword.
They'll have two options, either transition to another position or move on 'for the greater good'. May the best man win.

If we acquire Moses it will be a masterstroke. My support for WTs is not subject to Doueihi playing a certain position. No doubt the coaching team have a strategy. Marshall's thoughts on Brooks are publicly available and I posted the article due to this Doueihi v Brooks nonsense. In the end, as a player you fit in where the team needs you to play and that applies to all sports.
 
Enough of this who is playing halfback and five eighth debate, as it is becoming as outdated as talking about inside and outside centres.

There are differences in styles, which we usually refer to as controlling, kicker or running types. Still, they are simply a pair of halves in almost all situations, operating on the left or right, just like centres.
 
Every time I read on this forum, an admittance that the poster is not a Brooks' basher it reminds me of the Pheasant Plucker's song. Substitute pheasant and plucker for Brooks and basher and then it becomes clearer.

The ideas expressed on this forum regarding the Moses plus Brooks deal is pure speculation. Do people really think Sheens is a fool ? The big picture is simple, we want to see, how the whole side performs with a far better forward pack. Then decisions will be made about the whole sides suitability. What is not simple, is getting players that are better then what we have. Some say get rid of Brooks, but what is available ? The same with AD and some in our backline.

Exactly. I don’t understand why we should get rid of the one player who already knows how to pass a ball?
