They are talking about it in the paper. But Rugby don't have an unlimited stash to keep paying over a million for these league players. There's a real (almost certain) chance of Hass going to rugby. Heard it from someone from the club at an event in Brissie tonight.
You are 100% correct, but I also think you are rating the IQ of league players higher than actual....lolThey are talking about it in the paper. But Rugby don't have an unlimited stash to keep paying over a million for these league players.
The rugby guys advertise it as some BS "see the world" thing, as if League players can't fly or play overseas. That kind of nonsense is what they used to try and sell world wars to young men.
Who is next Delouise Hoeter?STAR'S 'SECOND COMING' AT TIGERS
Former Junior Kiwis captain Manaia Cherrington has rejoined the Wests Tigers - effective immediately.
A talented hooker who played 16 games for the club in 2015-16, Cherrington has spent the past couple of seasons at Ipswich in the Queensland Cup.
The 28-year-old has moved back to Sydney for personal reasons and will add depth to the Tigers in the hooking spot behind Api Koroisau and Jake Simpkin.
He will start his second coming at the Tigers in the NSW Cup but is expected to put pressure on Simpkin for the back-up hooking role as the season unfolds.
Yep... In a nutshellSam Walker dropped after back to back losses.
WT persisting with Brooks after 16 straight losses.
There’s the difference.
He might want to go there because Souths has such a strong indigenous links and he'd have a lot of buds there. Personally, I think he'd be nuts to turn Canberra down. But we sure won;t be coming to the Tiges. If South's do sign Weighton on a deal 300k less per year than the Raiders are offering then deadset someone needs to front N.R.L head office and get to the salarycap auditor and ask how that's legit.
Why shouldn't players be allowed to go where they want even if it's less than offered elsewhere? If South's do sign Weighton on a deal 300k less per year than the Raiders are offering then deadset someone needs to front N.R.L head office and get to the salarycap auditor and ask how that's legit. I'm not buying it I reckon Weighton stays a Raider but in the small chance he does sign with South's that will do me. We have over 1 mil to play with and can't sign a big name player, then we have clubs performing better paying less for all the talent.
If it does happen it proves there needs to be a draft, if the players don't like it and the clowns at the rlpa sing about a restraint of trade, the N.R.L can remind them the players can apply their trade in England, Russia, America, Italy, Greece and any other country with a league comp. How the N.R.L could sign off on a deal like that for Weighton to go to South's at around 300k below Canberra's offer is beyond me, but it is the N.R.L headoffice so anything is possible.
The NRL will not go near it as it is a player choice , yes $ 700/750 is unders but he only has to say I don’t want to play for raiders I want to play with Trell , case closedIf South's do sign Weighton on a deal 300k less per year than the Raiders are offering then deadset someone needs to front N.R.L head office and get to the salarycap auditor and ask how that's legit. Of course they should be able to, but in this world of money why would he, at age 30, turn his back in a contract which would be, most likely, his last big one. Seems odd .Why shouldn't players be allowed to go where they want even if it's less than offered elsewhere?
Because it's taking the piss out of the cap, iv got no problem with him going to south's, I have a problem with them being able to sign him for 300k less than another club that wants him. The cap is supposed to help spread the talent. Why shouldn't players be allowed to go where they want even if it's less than offered elsewhere?
Not really, the N.R.L could very easily say you've been offered 1 mil by Canberra so that's your market value, so for South's to sign you that's what it'll take. The NRL will not go near it as it is a player choice , yes $ 700/750 is unders but he only has to say I don’t want to play for raiders I want to play with Trell , case closed
Cant imagine a manager wanting to give up 45k eitherOf course they should be able to, but in this world of money why would he, at age 30, turn his back in a contract which would be, most likely, his last big one. Seems odd .
I don’t think South’s would do anything stupid re the cap but it’s just not the usual stuff we hear.
Raiders market value , south’s say he is worth $ 750 that’s there value of him , Tigers probably 1.3 million what happens thenNot really, the N.R.L could very easily say you've been offered 1 mil by Canberra so that's your market value, so for South's to sign you that's what it'll take.
Highest offer is 1.0 per year so far that is his value, otherwise the Roosters come it at 150k a year and he signs to win a comp. There is no way he is going to be paid 300k less than the Raiders are offering if he goes to South's, it's a rort with paper bags involved.Raiders market value , south’s say he is worth $ 750 that’s there value of him , Tigers probably 1.3 million what happens then
You average that out you you get the market value of just over a mil?Raiders market value , south’s say he is worth $ 750 that’s there value of him , Tigers probably 1.3 million what happens then
