There's a real (almost certain) chance of Hass going to rugby. Heard it from someone from the club at an event in Brissie tonight.

They are talking about it in the paper. But Rugby don't have an unlimited stash to keep paying over a million for these league players.

The rugby guys advertise it as some BS "see the world" thing, as if League players can't fly or play overseas. That kind of nonsense is what they used to try and sell world wars to young men.

You are 100% correct, but I also think you are rating the IQ of league players higher than actual....lol
 

STAR'S 'SECOND COMING' AT TIGERS​

Former Junior Kiwis captain Manaia Cherrington has rejoined the Wests Tigers - effective immediately.

A talented hooker who played 16 games for the club in 2015-16, Cherrington has spent the past couple of seasons at Ipswich in the Queensland Cup.

The 28-year-old has moved back to Sydney for personal reasons and will add depth to the Tigers in the hooking spot behind Api Koroisau and Jake Simpkin.

He will start his second coming at the Tigers in the NSW Cup but is expected to put pressure on Simpkin for the back-up hooking role as the season unfolds.

If South's do sign Weighton on a deal 300k less per year than the Raiders are offering then deadset someone needs to front N.R.L head office and get to the salarycap auditor and ask how that's legit. I'm not buying it I reckon Weighton stays a Raider but in the small chance he does sign with South's that will do me. We have over 1 mil to play with and can't sign a big name player, then we have clubs performing better paying less for all the talent.
If it does happen it proves there needs to be a draft, if the players don't like it and the clowns at the rlpa sing about a restraint of trade, the N.R.L can remind them the players can apply their trade in England, Russia, America, Italy, Greece and any other country with a league comp. How the N.R.L could sign off on a deal like that for Weighton to go to South's at around 300k below Canberra's offer is beyond me, but it is the N.R.L headoffice so anything is possible.
