Missed 17...that is not a typo...17 tackles on debut.
Possibly the worst defensive back I have ever seen.
Roosters playing him shows how short they are...not a sign he is any good. Remember they played Gildart also and he was useless. Now playing QLD cup...

Pauga, Nathan Milone and DeLouise Hoeter are the three worst outside backs I’ve ever seen. Hands down.

I think that was the worst performance I can remember of any nrl player ever. Cini’s second game was pretty memorable too. 😕

Marty Tapou and James Gavet were both here in 2014 with Potter as coach, although I don't know the details of whether Potter played any part in signing either of them. My recollection was that Mick Potter didn't get any say in recruitment.
Both players were absolute beasts on their day especially Kapow.
Ran into Marty in the Qantas lounge in Perth after he had signed with Manly so it would have most likely been during the pre-season of 2016 and had a bit of a chat.
He seemed to be a lovely bloke and as much as I dislike Manly, I wished him all the best for the future. My daughter was a huge fan of his and he actually knew her from Facebook or some social media.
He was actually there with Mal Meninga and they were involved in some sort of a meeting or promotion to do with the Anzac Test that was going to be played in Perth later on that year. Didn't get to talk to Mal because he was on the phone the whole time.

watane-zelasniak his first half he did absolutely nothing, he had no stats except one error in the first half, and did not make a single run until the 2nd half. That was Ivan’s.

The boardroom, CEO’s and the power brokers have been the club’s Achilles heel since day one. Most of our coaches would have had success in a different environment..except Taylor and Lamb.
Potter was the coach I think could have really turned the club around if he had the support from above. Anyway it would appear things after over a decade are slowly moving in the right direction

Wow so you take his first NRL coaching gig and go "why he can't just be learning his trade". I blame Gordon Tallis and we should boo him off Leichaert oval every time, but Robbie Farah thought Potter did not have the goods.
Yes Robbie was largely coached under Sheens, but he had exposure via State of Origin and city vs country. Potter did not have his confidence and knowing Robbie he was backing Potter when the rest of the team were looking pooly at Potter.
Ofcourse had Robbie STFU, we may have seen Potter mature and be more successful here.
Potter is a NRL average coach. I like him and IMHO would not be a bad option here in the future. That said, he is in the Nathan Brown category of NRL coaches.
I dunno. I think we're still short an out and out Lock. Pole is a Prop for mine coming off the bench for impact. A proper Lock would really round out our pack and mean we wouldn't have to have Seyfarth in the 17.
We also are fine for wingers. Tupou and Nofa with Staines is enough. We definitely need halves and a centre though
