I think Blake Taafe could be a handy 6 too. Probably a slight upgrade on Wakeham as he definitely has more pace than Wakeham and Taafe is also a handy goal kicker

With Wighton going to Souths to play left centre, we could do alot worse than grabbing Isaiah Tass to replace Tommy Talau

Blake Taafe is a genuine 6. Watching hom play fullback for Souths he tries hard in the role, but it's when he gets himself into a halves spot that he looks good. Just set up a good try with a classic 5/8 play, then kicked the goal from the sideline. I'd be happy to pick him up, re-sign Wakeham, and have both fight for the number 6 and goal kicking spot. I think he would offer more then Wakeham in attack.

Also they have that other kid, Izaac who filled in and looked decent.

Naden needs to get his act together, we need him and he's capable when he's on.

I wouldn’t complain about Taafe at 6 for us, but I’d rather Lachie Miller who is quicker and a more dangerous ball runner.

We need something more on our attack, especially when attacking the opponents line.
It’s being stated Newcastle need to shed players due to salary cap issues.
Lachie Miller is a brilliant ball runner with decent ability to create for others, could do worse than him as our 5/8.

I think it might be time to consider Brooks & Wakeham as the ongoing halves combination.

I agree. They had a crack with Pellow. Unfortunately he just got dropped from NSW cup I think?

Three goals from the sideline now for Taafe. Really think he would be a good pick up and form a good combo with Brooks.

If he is going we definitely need to recruit a centre. Tass for me, Averillo or Alimoti if not him

A regular poster in the other forum said Latu Fainu was mentioned in today’s NSW Cup coverage as a recruit of the Tigers. May be 3rd hand info that has been misinterpreted but @Mistymuzzle may be onto something. Could this be the player Buzz was referring to in his column a few weeks ago?!

Was the player of the competition in Harold Mathews in 2021 and had been playing NSW cup at only 17 and in Manlys top 30 despite not being eligible to play NRL this week when he turned 18. Would be an incredible signing if true
