LIVE GAME Round 14 vs. Raiders

Live Game Discussion
So many what ifs
What if Pole had passed to execute a 3 on 2 with half the field open
What if Brooks had stayed down when he got charged down and pretended they hit his leg
What if the ref had just blown a penalty coz clearly the guy who ran up to Brooks on the last tackle was offside, that's a more deliberate penalty and act than what Papali'i did.

The Refs have way too much power.
What if the tigers managed to score in the first 67 minutes of the game?
They would have won despite anything the refs supposedly did.

It seemed raiders did a bit of homework
They decided to slow down our play the ball allowing their defensive line to regroup and they figured benefits outweigh a few 6 agains
Of particular note was how many defenders targeted the Toa / Nofo rightside obviously because Toa was so damaging in our previous game
I still think their repeated ruck infringements should have copped more of a penalty than a few repeat sets given away for first 68 mins
Refs are supposed to take a dim view of repeated infringements as a deliberate tactic

I stated at some stage in the last couple of weeks that the adjudication by Klown and "I'll get you Butler" has been so bad that I'm at the stage where I think the Suttons are almost tolerable.

I'm now ready to retract that.

We've had some massive BS calls over the years, that Broncos game in Campbelltown where Isaako scored all their points comes to mind as well. There is no vindication for any of these because we will never be successful enough to forget these minor losses.
No Justice Tigers. Also, couple Tits games over the years

I don't know whos idea it was but starting Simpkin was really quite silly. Did Api need just an extra 20 minutes rest before coming on it doesn't make sense. This team goes with whatever momentum they have, good or bad and when he botched two tackles on their line very early in the game it just basically set the tone for the majority of the match. The team is doing so much right just not ticking the scoreboard over. Probably the 4th or 5th game where we have dominated possession, run metres, tackle breaks, but with nothing to show for it.

Most on here find pitiful excuses why we lost....its Brooks, its Wakeham, its NOFFA.its the centres.....
Im going to tell you the problem right here and now ...its the coaching...the forwards lay a great platform to get in the zone and WE CANT CONVERT THAT INTO POINTS,,,after weeks of having great stats we still cant score once we are in a perfect position ....THATS ON THE COACHES....

Yep, and the coaches blame the refs so the sheep follow suit.

Nah can't agree it was the coaching. Canberra nullified us with their defence - effort and attitude. The same thing happened to Cronulla against Broncos tonight. Cronulla one of the best attacking teams in the comp had plenty of opportunity but were stifled by great defence and couldn't execute effectively.

Line breaks and TRY assists…

Great take, it was a tactic by Pricky
Lay all over us in the ruck and get away with it

100%.

Here is the kicker though. The coaching staff have also somehow created a squad that can be competitive if they can get them performing.

As a side point as well the team is just learning to come together. Brooks had an injury riddled pre-season, Bula has only just come into the team and Wakeham came really to the club really late in the season and was probably considered a back-up option.

I also think it's clearly a coaching issue. Api massively overplayed his hand against Canberra and IP is not firing or anywhere close to it. I don't believe these are player issues but coaching issues.

Multiple things can be true at the same time. For
example; refs were shit, both bunker & Sutto.
bunker for finding a strip in Stef's tackle but unable
to see the push in the back on Brooks. Sutto
the dweeb, as mentioned heaps of times on here
allowed them to slow down our ruck until the
67th min & didn't march Woolford for the
dangerous tackle on Bateman, or penalise Hopate for the high shot on Star. Brooks had a
Whole minute and a half while foggarty was
taking the penalty kick at goal to get the guys
together and call for steady heads, he didn't
even have to get us upfield either due to the
penalty we received from the Rapana push.
Should have gone for the 1 point field goal
or 2 point from 40 out at worst. Low IQ, he
thought we could bag a 4th with Raiders back
To their full complement after already scoring
3 from 3 try's to go in front. It boggles the mind.
I hate being critical but it is what it is, our pop
gun attack was sputtering again due to lack
of direction, after dominating key areas in the
game again. I'd like to think we make our own
luck and we're on our way up, but as I said at
the start, multiple things can be true at the same
time. It's just our luck we lose under these stupid
circumstances every other week. Top teams
don't get the calls we cop. Can't wait to see how
that feels like as we scrape back from the bottom

Just wondering how vocal Brooks would've been after he was pushed in the back in the raiders try.
He is too nice and I'm sure he just got up straight away.
He should've laid down and milked the heck out of it or at least get in the ref's face and try to make a case of it.
At the end he could've again tried to milk that charge down after it just happened against us as well. Leave your leg hang out a bit longer, get hit and then roll around on the ground.
STOP BEING THE NICE GUYS!

Mate - go back to bed. This is such a poor read. Just completely biased.

Earl lol, read my whole post lawd have mercy

I did and I read it again. The reference to Brooks was absurd. I think you are a massive Doueihi fan. I was as well. You got to face reality mate. I said IP was going to be a gun for us and I've been massively disappointed. I thought Bateman was risky. I was wrong.

You got to watch games without such massive bias and let reality prove you right or wrong and then accept that.

Doueihi doesn't look like becoming an NRL player period. It's sad. It sucks. I was banking on him becoming a gun player. I wish him well and I'd love to see him come back but you don't bet on that.

Just watch the game rationally because if you are criticizing Brooks you've lost it. He kicked a field goal at a critical time that would have won us the game. There was less than 5 minutes to go. He was clearly one of the best on the park for us.

Earl, you just changed your name back from "luke brooks #1 fan," This was you on another thread just a short while ago too: don't speak to me about bias

"Brooks has been great. I honestly think we lost the game because we didn't go to him enough." Haha

Edit: thought he played okay for the record. That
last set of 6 with game on the line was criminal
