Stadium Plan

I was one of the 8k and got to witness Alex Twal score his try in person, so that was worth sitting out in the cold with the soon to gain knowledge that we could not mark up a winger to allow him to score 4 tries.

I love Leichhardt oval to watch our games from the hill with the atmosphere, however Campbelltown has so much room with the athletics track to build a massive stadium with access to the train network that could make sense to build out there

I am not local to Campbelltown but the area would thrive with this investment and infrastructure for sports and entertainment ( Commbank stadium size ) which we could utilise.

12k isn't a good crowd either though. I think they have issues out there above our position on the ladder
It’s only been about a year and a half since the tigers started giving a shit about the south west… south’s players were at the ground on junior games giving hand outs for gods sake.. it’s going to take time to win them back. The juniors and fans have been neglected out here for a long time.

Now here is a fan/member with clear and sensible forward thinking 👍 🙂.

We're the Wests Tigers Blaze...Wests, not norths or souths or easts, and that means Campbelltown.
Souths players giving handouts to entice youngsters to follow them instead of Wests Tigers is a friggin disgrace.
Our fearless leaders should be out there giving young people free admission [with a paying adult] to any games played at Campbelltown to interest them in becoming Wests Tigers fans not bloody Souths fans.

I don't think the locals are engaged with the club and with good reason. Everything is all about the inner west. I think they need to pick an area and run with it.
Socio-economic demographics are the major obstacle!

That is why the administration don't throw more resources at a proven lost cause!!

Fans CHOOSE to engage or not!

No value in spending money promoting something that the local audience has bugger all interest in!

I Remember when my son was in Primary school (Nofo's old Alma Mater where he dun graduated the 6th grade) they were giving the kids free tickets when accompanied by a paying adult at Cambo.

I can only recall that happening once or twice though. I would like to think that at the very least kids playing junior footy for Wests would be getting that sort of a deal, if no one else.

But you are 100% correct in that the infiltration into the area by those filthy Souffs scum is totally disgusting and that may have kicked on with the relocation of some of the indigenous community from the Redfern/Waterloo areas to places like Rosemeadow/Airds in the Campbelltown area particularly over the last 20 years or so.

there is little doubt that Gus' mob are just as scummy and would no doubt jump at the opportunity to get a foot hold in the area.

It's amazing how many people in the South West support teams other than Wests Tigers and you couldn't help but think that Ashfield had given up on the area when they closed down the local Roar Store in Macarthur Square, which no doubt would have been unprofitable, but I would have thought would have been of value as an identifiable presence in the area.

It would seem that there is only limited co-operation between Wests Ashfield and Wests Leumeah from what little I know about their relationship.

8,000. LO averaging 13,000 this season. Do the math.
Campbelltown is averaging just under 10,000 this year. The crowds are declining at both grounds as the team continues to lose. Leichhardt crowds fell from 14000 to 13000 to 12000 over 3 games. Campbelltown started with 10000 then rose to 11000 and then fell against melbourne to 8500. Its hardly impressive from either ground. I really couldn't care less where they played as long as they just start winning consistently.

Newton are trying to join a bid with Western Australia into the nrl with some games maybe to be played at Leichhardt Oval . If that happened it might strengthen the case for a LO redevelopment

Yeah, the clock is ticking. They need to start winning pretty soon.
