WestsLife pod said our monetary offer for the Fainus was competitive but it’s about the clubs vision. I know that info isn’t trusted by all on here just sharing the oil.
I am with u give them brothers a deadline because every time we drag out trying to sign players we get screwed , but our best offer up and say u got 48 hours or piss off

Let’s see mate, we have a war chest and need to spend up to 95% of the cap.

And there’s bugger all on the market 🥹
This is a huge problem for us and smaller teams in general. Being obligated to spend 95 percent of your cap every year. For a Roosters or Penrith it's understandable but for our roster it's criminal. Clubs should be allowed to bank coin so at some point a club like us can go to market with millions of saved previous cap dollars to pry some talent our way to help get us off the bottom of the ladder. It would make thing more cyclical imo instead of now where clubs anchored to the bottom are anchored there for 5 years because the clubs above nab the talent for less. If you could throw huge money at 3 or 4 top players in one off-season, you could transform your club overnight.

Problem is, that would also induce clubs to tank by releasing players towards the end of unsuccessful seasons in order to load up for upcoming years.

Tanking is a big problem for draft picks in the NBA and NFL, but it's so commonplace that it's weirdly just kind of accepted in those leagues.

I can't imagine there'd be anything much more demoralising knowing that your team and club is deliberately tanking to recoup funds.

(I recognise that people will draw the Luciano and Ofahengaue release comparisons, but there is a very big difference).

Lomax goes against the bad culture at the Dragons. He is one of the committed non party ones. I believe he has played poorly due to being an outsider in a very grubby culture. I was against signing him until I found this out, now I think he would be a good signing.
I'm not too sure WY would be good for Lomax. I agree with the comment that he probably needs a Bellamy or Bennett to bring out his best. It's hard for any player to be at their best with the WT ATM, unfortunately, with our engrained losing culture, often playing off the back foot. I can't remember the last time Tigers won four in a row.

I hear you, no doubt it happens, if I were running the Tigers and we had a draft I'd be telling the lads in the last 2 weeks to just have fun but don't win so I can get 1st pick.

If this is true, I'd call the joint a basket case, but that would be an insult to baskets. Lee reckons were committed to our 5 year plan, within the first 6 months undermined the football department by hiring Fulton without consultation, now potentially this. If it's true they're imbeciles and an absolute joke.

The fainu brothers have a big family presence in western sydney (westmead / parramatta area) brother is in prison in bathurst and will
be until 2026 at earliest, thats the reason behind wanting to stay in sydney

the club vision is all smoke, they want $$, they understand the club needs them not the other way around

laurie seen as utility signing will be on a much smaller deal if he stays, i have also heard murmous that if peachey leaves penrith, laurie could find himself back at the club
Let’s hope the so called Fulton connection gets this over the line

Can you point me to an example where placing a deadline on a player has resulted in them signing?
How would you ever know? can you imagine Mitch Moses saying "I wasn't going to sign with the Tigers but as soon as they put a deadline on me I signed quick smart. They totally bluffed me."
Deadlines are common in business and can work in the right circumstances. I'm convinced Moses went back and forth between us and Parramatta until the bidding stopped but was always going to sign with Parramatta.
