Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we are being honest, not many of these potential halves signings give the impression they are anywhere near as good as Luke Brooks.
It remains to be seen how much of an immediate impact young Latu Fainu can have, but he will need a very hands on, strong leader type of 7 alongside him that’s for certain.
No they would do more good things in one year than brooksy would do in three years.

Was talking with my Rooster's mate today talking about his time at the Cowboys he has some crazy stories about them also we started talking about the Panthers he knows a few of the players and he told me that one of the Panthers spine players was so happy for Andrew Webster he said that when Webster was at the Panthers Cameron Ciraldo got alot of the credit for Webster's great work

Webster told the Warriors players that they have to stay out of the fridge to be
Successful

Ciraldo won't last more then another year the Tigers dodge a bullet

Just for something different, I'm going to suggest some players that Fulton should try to recruit/retain on NSW Cup contracts only. Either to provide experience for a young team or could fill-in as depth in NRL if absolutely required. All currently are either NSW Cup contracted or off-contract NRL and unlikely to be resigned by their current club.

RETAIN: Aitasi James, Livai Saukuru, Jack Boyling or Tom Freebairn, Sione Hopoate

RECRUIT: Jake Toby or Mawene Hiroti (outside backs/fullback), Dean Hawkins or Kurt Falls or Ben Stevanovic (halfback), Faamanu Brown (hooker/lock/utility)

Any others?
How many of those will stick around a wooden spoon club on a train and trial? Can't see Brown or Stevanovic rejoining us. James sure try keep, maybe Saukuru too. The rest, meh. Hiroti would be a decent back on a train and trial for us. Think he's turned us down twice already though

Jesse Marschke would be a brilliant addition on a 2nd tier contract.
One of the rare halves that takes the ball to the line at speed and asks questions of the defence. Stevanovic would be good also, but Marschke is the key player in why the Bears are going so well.
His sister goes alright too 😉 is seeing perry, one of our nsw cup benchies too.

that's why a guy like Sezer is a good idea for a couple of years. can steer the ship around in the meantime while Fainu and Sullivan develop both in and out of first grade. ideally we get both Sezer and Sullivan wrapped up plus a utility type (Weeks, Watson, Mann) and ensure that we have depth and competition for spots across the halves, as its led to our downfall this season.
We don't have room in our top 30 to sign Sezer, Sullivan and a utility. Sezer and Sullivan/Weekes would be the only option. Unless we are able to move several of our contracted losers on.

We'll need depth & experience and NSW Cup contracts enable this. Don't see them as a roadblock, more as mentors who will move to the bench or Ron Massey if our young guns warrant inclusion.

Let's say hypothetically we start 2024 with Sezer & Sullivan in the halves, then we could give Latu Fainu some good experience in NSW Cup as 5/8 with an experienced head (i.e. a Dean Hawkins or Kurt Falls type) inside him. Latu and the Magpies would get more out of that then a Zane Camroux.

So what do you say to Galvin? Go somewhere else?
