Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Michael Jennings on train and trial at the Roosters. He’d have been a walk up starter here.
It's not what Jennings may have on Politis, but far more likely and far more depressing is that Nick and other senior club officials still think of Jennings as a 'good bloke who made a simple mistake' and 'someone who still deserves a second chance'.

The NRL owes him nothing after his most recent actions, and the optics on this whole situation are poor enough that even from a business standpoint, it doesn't make sense to sign him. Let alone for a club that boasts about culture.

Can't even justify the signing as an 'older player to mentor the younger players' because he is such a shit bloke that you wouldn't even want him mentoring yourself.
Depressing as a rugby league fan in general to see they're still allowing dug bust players to return NRL.

I wouldn't want him at my club potentially mentoring our younger juniors...

The Roosters signed Lodge.
End of culture discussion.

Imagine if we did sign Luai what would we do with the other 4 halves we have, can only think one or maybe more have one foot out the door already.
sezer would only be for 2024
AD probably gone
Galvin probably leaves
that leaves Sullivan as backup or Fainu starting or vice versa
2025 hopefully
Luai 7
Fainu 6
Sullivan or TDS 14 ?

well Sezer’s on a 1 year deal and Doueihi’s off contract, so yeah I’d say there’s two with a foot out the door.

I'd already written those 2 off especially Doueihi, thinking more along the lines of the younger guys Fainu Sullivan Galvin also thought that Mason kid was a half. I don't think it affects Large that much seeing as how young he is.

We've been through this on the thread before but basically AD will have to kill it next year to get a new contract (of which it will be on low money and to be a utility) and Sezer is there for one year to guide the young guys with a player option for 2025. Sullivan and Fainu are the future but starting with them straight away won't work. It might dent their confidence and development playing in a back to back wooden spoon team. Learning off a player who is successful will be beneficial

Next year maybe Olam for Blore & resign Staines for whoever leaves this year. Look forward to 2025. We then have 3 spots if they sign & resign Tupou.

Best & Luai do make sense for what is on the market.

Bula, Tupou, Olam, Best, Staines, L Fainu, Luai, Utoikamanu, Koroisau, Klemmer, Papali'i, Bateman, Galvin, Sullivan, Twal, Pole, S Fainu

Good depth in the backs with To'a & Naden

Massive forward depth, wouldn't be surprised if what have written above changes.

& for once depths in the Halves
