Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Makes me wonder if they have ever watched him play ?

He has no confidence, hands like feet . Cant pass the ball..Can’t defend … and they are his best qualities..
In my view it was Hartigan doing his Roosters mates a favour to get SBW back 5-6 years ago. How we haven’t cottoned on to that in that time has me fu$&ed.

In the second row he played well. At the contract he was on, he represents good value. Not all players in the 30 can be stars or renumerated as stars.
You can’t carry dead wood, even players 23-30 need to have a next man up mentality and play at a first grade standard. What exactly did you like about him in the second row, I didn’t see him dint the line or lock down an edge in D 🤷🏼‍♂️

I understand there’s a remuneration difference across the 30 and not all players are on the the same coin, goes without saying.
Played well at 2rf? Someone who was a revelation to me would warrant better than just “played well”.
Anyway, I will fix it for ya so you get my opinion off him.
A revelation in the 2nd row???
That’ll do me. 🤪

You want him on the board?
Can he mentally handle the pressure of being Pres of Tigers board?
Couldn’t be any worse.
One Board meeting every couple of months where they decide when to take annual leave and when they will amp up the pressure on the coaches ball bag. Doesn’t sound that stressful.

His impact - he defended well and demonstrated controlled aggression. He ran the ball hard and I recall him knocking Ponga out of the game with a hard run. His ability to hit a gap was good. I think between Marshall, Morris, Farah and Heighno, he can be an option as an impact forward. Up close he is not required to make decisions in defence as you do in the centres.

I remember that game. We couldn’t beat a heavily depleted Knights team at home, Knights played horrendous. Your standards are too low mate, at least you follow an appropriate club.

I am describing a player who fills out the 30. Most clubs unless you are the Broncos or similar standard will have players of this calibre filling out the squad.

I completely disagree with the term “fills out your 30” these are professional athletes for Christ sake. Every kids dream. You don’t hand them out to nuffies.

Everyone has to make decisions in defence.
Now you’re trying to hide a bad defender at 2rf coz he had one good run. He runs out of the line in D all the time, does my head in.
Not to mention he can’t catch the ball. I reckon you could glue a cricket ball down his throat and he’d still cough it up.
He needs to go asap.

You make compromises in your squad to allow for the purchase of stars. Ideally, I'd agree distributing the available cap evenly among the squad is best. This prevents ill-feeling in the sheds but it is never going to happen unfortunately.

The second rowers were always the best defenders in my experience, not somewhere to hide. Not surprisingly Luciano is being shopped again.

You have to cut players free when they haven’t shown first grade capability on a consistent basis.

Players 25-30 you should have journeymen who you believe have lacked opportunity or young players with plenty of upside. Not blokes who have had heaps of chances and failed.

What @BAGNF05 just said, and we need to be looking to upgrade our worst player all the time and Asu is it. Then simplekin.

It is pretty well accepted defence in the centres is harder and split second decisions need to be made. Some were great at it, such as Ettinghausen, others like Best despite having played SOO are continually beaten on the outside. Kepaoa unfortunately cannot do it but that doesn't mean he cannot be a useful player closer into the middle.

I thought they were re-signing him after he had a few good games in a row, against us and a couple of others? Doesn’t surprise me bad buy for them from the start.
