David Nofoaluma #164

It’s sad that so many of our longest serving players have had periods where they have fallen out with the club. Benji, Farah, Heigno, Gibbs and now Noffa. I know Heigno and Gibbs didn’t really “fall out”, but they were club stalwarts who should have played their entire career here. The only long serving player, who was here from start to finish was Lawrence.

I disagree. He is still probably the best winger at the club for churning out hard metres off kick returns & early hit ups.

He is guilty of being overpaid & sounding entitled & probably being slower than we are used to.

His defence is pretty average, but then so is the defence of whoever stands next to him most games.

And he's probably our safest catch under a high ball.
I'd agree with this.

This one isn't on the club at all.

In some ways they need to get rid of players that have been in the losing culture for too long.

The longer he stays the less likely a NRL team will want him if he fails to train or shows that his attitude is not a team first one.

Settle the matter and move on which can open up a spot in the top 30 and remove a once beloved player of the Tigers who has become one that is a liability to the team and brand.

I agree. He's not helping himself by going this route. What other NRL club will want to sign a 30 year old winger who doesn't want to train and doesn't have a good attitude?

How are you being mistreated if you’re not fit enough at training , and being told that the club is moving forward with younger players ?
Every player gets tapped on the shoulder at some point . IMO he bitched and moaned about the mediocrity here a year or two ago , now there’s been a level up in expectations and standards , and he’s being singled out because he can’t meet the new benchmarks ? You’re supposed to be a leader mate . You’re 30 , slowing down , and lacking the same oomph in your runs . You can’t defend , are meh under the high ball , and offer very minimal leadership qualities .
If he was a leader around the club , drove standards, and didn’t bad mouth the club in public over the last couple of years , then he would have a very clear case , and I would agree with him.
But he wasn’t that , and his lack of contrition and self reflection is sad to watch . In some ways his winger of the year Dally M , seems to have been his undoing . He’s had nothing but attitude problems since then . It’s a real shame
I would love to know how Nofa intends to defend himself! What argument does he have? The only one he can use is being mistreated by coaches.

FFS Nofa you're a professional rugby league player, act like one!

He should have used any comment from the coach about being played in NSW Cup as motivation not throw his toys out of the cot. FFS!

There is a club out there wanting him....they just want to lowball the Tigers...it will happen, like I said before the first trial he will be outta here
St George? Given Tartak has a strong relationship there, fair chance!

Or Parramatta?

The difficulty in that is wouldn’t he be more likely to stay for two years to get his full contract?

Isn't there a "D" option?
3 breach notices and the sack? $0000
That's within 12 months though??

Yes sad such a player yet again has turned into a rotten egg... The culture and history at this place is very very poor

I'm not sure hell find a nrl. Club unless it costs us big time... Just another in a long line of embecilic decisions from he who wore the embecilic hats

Looking at the detail, he has been sanctioned 3 times recently. This is supposedly a termination letter, rather than a warning. I think he's used up his warnings.
Don't know about NRL but warnings are scrapped I think in most workplaces after every 12 months service?

I've had about five or six over 15 years

Agree. Fingers crossed we are wrong. Someone mentioned there is a club interested though I’m not sure if that is wishful thinking or an actual rumour.

I get that his attitude sucks, but it’s amazing people still feel like it’s a leap to acknowledge his ability as a player. He’s the club’s leading try scorer.
While true he’s also berated his teammates online when he’s at fault, complains that’s he’s been treated unfairly and targeted yet refuses to train or at least set to achieve the new standards set by the club, and overall has become so toxic that by the sound of things, no one at the club can’t stand him anymore. Regardless of the achievement, majority of the Tigers fan base will not even care what he achieved given what he has become. He has no one to blame but himself for his downfall.

I can't see him getting a top 30 deal anywhere. likely development or train and trial as it's no risk.

I was worried that we'd struggle to get rid of him because of what was coming out of the club in regards to his training standards, but thankfully he's managed to rack up three strikes.

Sw him play for WT in that winning 20's GF team a few years back coached by Todd Payten when we had Korobiete on the other flank. He played great that day and, to be fair, has gone pretty well in many games since but pretty clearly he has no future with us now. Getting the RLPA involved over his apparent problems with Benji's new training regime would have gone down like a lead balloon with a lot of people especially our new CEO!
Definitely incapable of reading the room The days of senior players undermining the coach with the support of the administration are done - for now anyway.
