Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Absolutely.
Nothing wrong with signing big, strong and fast athletes who can score long range tries.
Another one that look at is Mason Peut who will be called up to the Storm NRM squad before too long if no other club gets in first.
No, players like this should come in on train and trial contracts. Unless they're playing ever week in super rugby, then they'd need to be top 30. We made that mistake with Reilly. Get them in take a look with the promise that if they kill it they'll get a top 30 contract. At best give then a developer contract, but we've already filled all our spots.

Jorgensen is who we should try and get back, but probably not much chance now unless he still has some friends at the club

@Tucker completes me lads, I call out to him about Olam and “the squirmer” and he studiously ignores me.

And apparently ( when he’s at home) he drives the most expensive Prado ever built, the one that does everything except drive.

Something like this:

Not sure if it’s the same colour.

Hes quite intriguing.
Man we need to Western Suburbs that mobile.

Put a few dents in the sides, then paste stickers with bullets on them like no one knows were hiding something...

remove those stock wheels, get Gold plated caps that leave a 2cm gap between frame and road. Make it so that offroad 4wd monster can't go over speedhumps unless at 90 degrees.

Darken up that tint! make the rear brake lights ultra dark.

Ofcourse a Wests Tigers sticker on the back.

Don’t forget Reilly played over weight when he first joined us for the latter stages of the 2022 season.
Last season he got himself fit, was a constant standout in our NSW Cup Team and a standout when he finally got a chance at NRL level late last season.
He would have went well had he been given more time, but he was not real big and not overly fast so I would assume he knew or was advised it was again unlikely he would be an NRL starter in 2024, hence his move back to Rugby Union.
Jorgensen would absolutely come back if he was paid well and promised the number 1 jersey. Obviously that won’t happen at the moment with Bula firmly entrenched in our number 1 jersey.
As for a player like Darby Lancaster, no guarantee he would be a star if he switched to NRL, but it’s a fair chance he would be an attacking weapon with the speed and running game he possesses.

Can turn a game on its head, could be our utility/
strike player mid-year off the bench. Wouldn't
bet against Doueihi, he's playing 4 his league career

Aren't they playing for their 'career' every year?

What makes this ACL any different to the others in terms of coming back for his 'career'?

With Noffa and probably AD gone in 2025, that shoud easily give us enough space for another marquee signing.
Hopefully you're right about the cap and buying another marquee player.. May need to save some money for upgrades of hopefully 4-5 of the kids coming through

I'd imagine the club would be looking to upgrade a few contracts such as Pole.
I can definitely see us upgrading and extending a few of these guys as opposed to going to market and blowing a stack of cash on a marquee or two.

Bula was the first to cop an upgrade, but To'a, Utoikamanu, Da Silva and Pole like you say could all be in contention for upgrades depending on their trajectories this season, even Galvin or Latu and Samuela.

I always read that developing and keeping them is cheaper than going to market. It also provides a long term sustainable future for the club and builds espirit de corps. I'd enjoy for all those players you have mentioned to be at the club long term.

Not saying AD would be a good centre but to say he is too slow for it is not true. just look how slow Brad Parker is and he was still one of the better defensive centres in the comp last 3 years

Anyone who thinks Doueihi would make a good centre should go back and watch the 70 point flogging the rooster gave us a couple of years ago. The bloke was defending 3 in on the right side i believe, dropped his mouth guard we were defending 20 or 30 m out. He jogged out of the line to pick up said mouthguard and they strolled through the gap he created to score.
Juice im not saying that's what you're suggesting, your post just happened to be the one of many posts talking about Doueihi and centre.

I might have to patrol the garden to keep thieves and members of other clubs away.

Set the cat on them and as they laugh, pull out my trusty blood stained axe from behind the red bin.

Working from home for this, it better be good.

Don't disagree with the premise of your statement,
but he's only 25, coming off a 3rd reco, so it's
really now or never for him in that respect...
