OFFICIAL SG Ball Cup

I think what BB is saying is that a lot of the better quality recruits are being assigned to the Wests Magpies teams lately.
It is not all of them as the young prop we just signed from Mackay is playing for Balmain, only played about 11 minutes today for some reason, hoping that’s not a sign he’s not fit enough to keep up at this stage. Also the young centre we signed from Keebra Park has played a couple of games for Balmain, I assume he was out injured today ? Also a young centre with surname Close come with a big reputation from Manly, he was also out I assume injured today.
Who's doing the recruiting?
I remember not too long ago balmain had open trials and would get a lot from Parra. Manly etc that missed out in the own teams

If done properly it’s a big advantage to have two catchment areas and pools of talent.
In the end it’s the same catchment area, the inner west to the outer west of Sydney.

I understand there’s history, tradition and club politics and finances that need to be addressed and considered. But if we do it right, like the Panthers did, we’ll be a powerhouse club.

I find it strange that we haven’t combined the kids, teens and reserves into one focused Wests Tigers pathway. We’re diluting our talent pool with this Mags and Tigs direction across grades.
It would be logistically very difficult... It has to be Wests and Balmain up to a point... We have two separate junior districts either end of the city.
Dad with lil 16yo johnny playing for Leichhardt wanderers selected for WTs Harold Matt's and having to travel to Cambo to train? Several times a week...
Or vice versa
Flegg is the right age to combine the district junior reps into one

That’s why we created the COE, it’s in a central and accessible location.

But that’s not my point, my point is that after 25 years, we’re still a divided club. Every team across all divisions should be called Wests Tigers. Not Balmain Tigers or Wests Magpies.

Not sure who is head of our junior recruitment?
As far as I can see we are still getting a few decent players that are being missed by surrounding clubs.

So you want WTJRL from u/6s... Every grade?

Won't work for the reasons I gave before

No need to merge the juniors.
Illawarra are still always very strong, despite being separate to the Sf George teams. Sy George have a very good SG Ball team themselves this season.
The Roosters also have Central Coast Roosters and both teams are generally competitive.

Early reports are that he has been selected for this weekend's Maggies SG Ball team in 16 positions with Lachlan Galvin coming off the bench. 🥃 🥃 🥃 🤓
