I’m hoping we can win at least 5 games, but I don’t know where they’ll come from. The coach’s box looked very sombre last game.
Richo reckons progress wise we’re like a recovering alcoholic, we need to be honest about our shortcomings, before we can move forward.

But the pain of years past has really hurts us.
When you're one of us, there's a very thin black/orange/white line between pleasure and pain.
However, with the new broom, the small steps, the solid base of player loyalty, the youth/pathways ...... all these give me hope more than despair.
 
Cooper Johns asked Brooks if he was still interested in playing origin. There was nothing shy about his response.

To be fair Ink, I thought it was one of the better performance I have seen from him in front of a camera.

I can only imagine that he has received a bit of media coaching at Manly because blind Freddie could see that he would be asked the inevitable questions after parting company with us.

I also believe that having some class play makers around him and with DCE taking on the majority of the kicking duties it will have lifted so much burden off his shoulders.

All he has to do now is to fall back on his running game, his defence is pretty good so he doesn't have to rely completely on having a minder next to him and if he can develop softer hands and get those short rocket passes out of his game or at the very least get some players around him that can catch a ball, I think he will have a pretty good season.

I think those passes were a byproduct of his frustration. Much of his game in 22/23 can’t be relied upon as an accurate assessment of his ability. He had thrown the towel in at that point. However, what I believe was an audition for a Manly contract mid 23, games against Penrith and Cowboys were the real Brooks.

For sure mate there's been a deep rooted hatred from us Westies since time began. I remember all the brawls we used to get into with those Northern Beaches flogs. Makes me sick that anyone here is even talking those c4nts up lol

He also said we’re 80% there with the squad. Basically we need to upgrade 6 players in the 30 man squad. Seems pretty right.
