OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

We need to bring in Brad Arthur as an assistant and sack Farrah

Show the market that we have adult supervision in the coaching ranks and not two rookies

Also players love Brad Arthur

It will at least shore up some things and bring some Steele and work ethic to the coaching staff

And then we can look for a new coach before end of the year and see what falls out of the tree

So are we suggesting that only the good players should play at the good teams?

They won’t be happy to waste their careers at the lower ranked clubs so should move to greener pastures.

Interesting to see how that works with a salary cap
Im talking about juniors or rookies here. Cap barely plays into it at those levels.

The salary cap works against the weaker clubs. If you get paid almost the same regardless of your side, why wouldn’t you play for a better club? It’s more fun and less taxing on your body for a start.

Galvin probably has never played in a side in his life that has lost three on a trot, now he is on a streak of nine on the trot and will probably end up over 20 loses

He can take the soft road and kick and scream and get a gig at the Chooks or who ever or he can put his hand up and take some responsibility like the rest of the squad and try and turn things around . If we really want things to change we have to have everyone on board, so if Galvin wants out let him walk, but get something out of the deal, a player who wants a challenge

I agree. That’s why it’s so hard to dig yourself out of the hole as you’re typically having to pay overs to attract and or keep players at the club. But I also can’t see every decent player heading to a Penrith or Roosters etc as the cap still distributes talent (albeit not as well as it’s designed for the reasons you mention).

Every year I bring this up. The salary cap punish the bottom teams, because they have to spend probably 40% more to attract players. So they get a lot less for their cap. This is not only your elite players, but it’s also your juniors and your depth players.

Whats the answer??? I have a solution but it has been screamed down every year for the past decade so I want bore everyone

Yeah but Galvin is the subject currently is he not? He’s playing NRL and has a top 30 contract
What do you think Galvin is on?

Whatever it is it is still a relatively small portion of the cap. Whether he gets 300k at Tigers or 200k at Penrith, I dont think that would factor into his thinking at all.

Cap doesnt come into the equation. Unless the Tigers were to panic, offer him 2 to 3x his current value on a long term deal. Sounds like something that has never backfired on the Tigers before.

No idea what he’s on but one things for certain, Richo would know he needs upgrading. A big issue is the amount of top 30 contracts we’ve offered to kids that aren’t kicking on.

Totally agree. To me Bulldogs and Tigers took totally different approaches to rebuilding rosters last year. Bulldogs filling theirs with solid first graders ours with promising juniors. Dogs have it in a canter at the moment.

Cant panic with the Galvin upgrade imo

Richo will be taking to his parents ? This isn’t school boy footy. It’s a professional sport. I know he is young but brings to mind who is actually really agitating for a release Lachie, his parents or Moses?
Parents and manager mate , 100% , they feel he is the king and needs to be In A gun side to shine , like all spoiled kids , can’t do shit in a week team but looks good in a gun team that’s my feeling , he has requested multiple release , let the little shit go along with Stef , both won’t win us a compl
buy 2 hard edge props , 1 solid hard running back rower , and throw the young Fenui beside Luai and grad a solid centre we be ok , I can’t stand players wanting out with 1 or 2 years to go , no point in keeping them , they want out show them the fkkng door

I wonder if he'll have the balls to show up to the. MEmbers day on. Monday

Someone needs to tell him a few home truths

I remember when. Prince signed for the GC.... he turned up to the next post match fan night at Wests leagues Cambo with two meatheaded bodyguards

I think he has parents and a manager telling him he is the second coming.... teams have worked him out a bit since the parramatta win.

This has been happening for years.

We aren't performing so the better plays seek a way out.

Lachlan Galvin should be given everything he needs to succeed. At the moment, he's in the deep end, trying his best, getting pumped every week. We will lose him for sure if we can't turn this ship around and start competing, as a minimum.
Really do we want this piece of crap?? Has a dummy spit cause we are not playing well. Fk him off, can’t stand people like them, what an embarrassing move by the kid, gee….
Sounds as slimy as his manager
