Adam Doueihi #227

Don’t be fooled Hal, we’ve all seen him play, he’s rubbish, and refuses to tackle.
Funnily enough, I’ve always had a soft spot for him. Will be very interesting to see if he can come back from 3 big injuries, and if he does, what impact , if any, he has on the side. He previously had captaincy aspirations but will take some time to work out things like that.
First things first, I wish him an injury free 24 and then let’s go from there.

amnesia around here regardling his comments about playing 6 or happy to play reserve grade.
would hope latu fainu is fit before AD gets a run at 6
centre we are desperate he is better than naden, not the best tackler is AD but he runs an awkward style that works at centre and good goal kicker.
Pretty much my thoughts, I can’t wait till he’s gone.

He wants security & defined role, we're the sooks
Ah so sorry for sooking about a sook who wants to be a footballer without the football part, that leaves you with “er”.

There’s 56 bank security guard jobs going in Sri Lanka, 5 new ones.

The amnesia also grows to how everyone forgets how often they could run around AD as he wasn't able to move laterally. Major defensive problem. No point scoring 3 tries if the opposition knows they can at least score 3 tries past AD. Other than that AD is not terrible. Hope he is new and improved?

He won us games. He'll do it again

I think the journos sold many people a false narrative about Doueihi & the fabled "I'd rather be in reserve grade".

James Hooper sold most of you a dummy.

Doueihi came back from INJURY.

Noddy planned to play him a set amount of minutes off the bench as a centre.

Doueihi said he would be better playing 5/8 in reserves as, at that time, it was his position. He didn't DEMAND he plays 5/8. He didn't DEMAND he plays reserve grade. He wanted to prove his worth at 5/8 & get back in the side that way.

The forgotten facts are- both Brooks & Joffa came out & supported his call &....Doueihi played a certain amount of minutes, at centre, off the bench, as selected.

But, you guys go ahead and remember it the way Hoops wants you to.

It wasn't so long ago that Newcastle were in our position. A string of wooden spoons, getting flogged regularly, dedicated fans despondent, etc. They were able to get off the canvas and become a competitive team. They are still a few players short of top 4 material, but they have been able to compete for the 8 in the past few years. We could do the same. It won't be this year, but Luai could be to WT what Ponga was to Newcastle.
Thanks for your positivity, I'm a bit of a negative Nellie at the moment along with others. Lets hope you are right re Luai, and he doesn't fall into the same
hole
as a lot of the other purportedly good players we have had in the past that won't stick with us because we are not winning...everyone wants to win it seems, and they can't wait.

He said something similar before he started to play like shit and give up on tackling etc. I know injuries played a part, but his attitude at one stage was very poor. I hope that he leads with his actions this time
Remember that the whole team was crap.and checked out back then.

He is a competitor and will be very hungry to get back

JT you were a big Doueihi hater - glad u came around
still not a big fan mate but compared to what we have now he is better in the centres than naden, filedy fataape etc and better in the halves than Sullivan.
next year do I want him here, not overly fussed if it is on 200k then it is a good signing, don't particularly want him in the halves though.
As for this year, if latu fainu is not fit next week then I would put AD on the bench and get some time in the halves.

I admire how tough he is coming back from a third knee injury. I would think his longevity is paramount and a switch to the ESL to play on softer grounds would be ideal. Sometimes you just have to make the best decision for your circumstances.

He also needs to be a late inclusion in the NRL team.
Stuff playing KOE.
Why would you have Faataape on the bench instead of AD?
It makes no sense at all.
He needs some paying time under his belt before he gets a run in FG. Game time conditioning is paramount for a successful return. The step difference from contact training to Ressies is big enough - one he starts killing it there then it is time to consider a FG appearance.
