OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Galvin has a target on him now after all the 'wanting out' talk.

Latu Fainu is going to look good once fit. Once that happens, Galvin will be wanting to develop a little bit more than he is to hold off the challenge.

Like in his earlier junior development days, the backrow might be calling.

In one of Benji’s pressers he said that Lachie was always talking very technically about attacking options. Benji said he told Lachie to just keep it simple and not get too technical. I understand that but I thought this might be an issue. Some players no matter what their age are far more advanced with footy IQ. I actually felt at the time Benji should back him instead of restricting him. As long as Moses is his manager he won’t be here when his contract is up. I hope Benji just backs him in a little more for the back end of the season. The kid can play and hopefully its long term with us but I have zero confidence he stays.

Yep … but now he has that platform to show everyone his talents … he has said he is going to see out his contract … which is all he or any other player “ owes” the club…

I would love him to stay longer term just like I hoped Tedesco did … but Teddy reached the point where he was always going to leave … I hope Galvin still has an open mind about staying ..but they are going to have to improve and win a lot more games next year I think …
Yep. IMO the only way he stays if we are short odds to making semis. He’s shown his cards early which is actually good for us. We can have a clearer path recruitment and negotiation wise.

He does seem way way ahead of his time... Like a gifted student... 12 yo studying uni.
Several instances on field and either in. Interview etc... He seems.like he's been playing nrl For years.
He needs a great coach I think he has the potential to be a great player... Unfortunately he won't get that coaching here.
It's remarkable what can happen... my son made reps in cricket at about 14yo and the coach simply and quickly pointed out a few things both bowling and batting he was doing wrong... Improved his game immensely

100% in regards to how a good technical coach can make a good player into a much better technician as per your son.

But I wouldn't be suggesting that Benji lacks the technical rugby league nous - and I am sure his message is more about managing Galvin's role in the current team.

Sheens always said that he was able to technically speak about plays/tactics etc in "rugby league shorthand" to Benji & Robbie (among a handful from the 2005 class) - when many of their team mates did not have that level of understanding at that stage.

So it was about keeping everyone on the same page - without dumbing down the quality of the attacking football!

Benji would definitely be working on Lachlan's individual skills and play-making/reading - but "keep it simple" is the exact advice that Wayne Bennett would also be providing the kid IMHO - so not sure the pot shots at our coaching staff are necessary!

Probably felt the players around him would have no f… idea

Just on 9, the tenures of the contracts of Galvin and Strange were mentioned. It was in the context of Manu leaving and Fittler mentioned the Roosters will be on the lookout for a 5/8. I think the father of Strange works at the Roosters.

This kid is something special.
Forget the Brooks PTSD that we all suffer from, waiting for Galvin to be another false dawn.
We've got a very special player here. Richo needs to make sure he stays here.

Yesterday is exactly the type of day he and his family needed. Home crowd at Cambo going nuts. I was hoping he kissed the Tiger emblem when he scored, but maybe we are a little off that yet.

Now THAT, was his best game.

He straightened up a lot more yesterday which allowed Fainu and Doueihi to hit holes. I wanted Sezer on the left for two reasons, 1 he is batter at doing the above and 2, Galvin most likely will be on the right next year when Luai comes so move him now. However he showed some development yesterday from being all instinct and effort, to actually thinking about his body positioning engaging the line. Very good.
