Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

SMH....
I'm the best part of 50 and I've seen 1 Jonathan Thurston.
Saying there's another playing Ressies for the Magpies is just stupid (I am getting used to it though)

Bud has had more than a few coaches now, And a couple clubs....
And Bud is still Bud, Getting outplayed by a Rookie....
I’d say it’s a fair chance if he was being coached by Bennett or Bellamy you would see him play at or near his best much more regularly and if that ever happens you will see a quality player.

Yeah... We know, The next JT (Right?)

If he was as good as you can imagine, Why did Bennett buy an unproven kid from SG Ball over him?
He'd not playing for those coaches, because they're good coaches....

So which players are the main offenders.
Does this mean our players are dumb as well as not willing to run or tackle hard ?
look it’s a snowball effect, a kind of Swiss cheese wheel.
We are the least effective team to make meters from our back 5. Which means we have to call on our forwards to get involved. Other teams have the luxury of having their back 3 or 5 getting to at least the 40m line by the 3rd tackle. We rarely make the 40 by our 5th tackle.

Both Fainu and Galvin can defend. Fainu has had limited opportunities due to injury but I'd rather go with a highly talented youngster rather than Sullivan whose only consistency has been his inconsistency.

What have I missed,
When have we seen anything that Fainu can do (tackle or attack) has he played any minutes in the NRL this year ?

Hope he can play as good as a lot of peoples expectations.
He has been absent through injury, not ability. He is not afraid of putting his body on the line and we know the playing qualities of his brothers. We know exactly what Sullivan can or can't deliver.

You might need to get back on the bat phone with that information.
Bennett signed Jamie Humphreys who is not SG Ball age, he been around the lower grades for a couple of years now.
He would have been signed on a minimal top 30 contract,
That is fine you don’t think Sullivan will become a regular quality NRL player, I do but it will highly unlikely be with Wests Tigers.
Let’s see who is right, time will tell.

What are you, His Nan?
Got on the Bat Phone - Come back with this for you....

Back before a few weeks ago, When JD was still the Souths coach....
Bennett signed a kid Half from SG ball (or younger)...
to be the starting half for the team he was coaching.

You'd surely have heard of him by now? They call him Isaiya Katoa, Pretty good eye for Talent it seems....
Might be why he's now signed your man Humphreys when it's clear to the whole comp they'd get Sullivan for a song with the Tigers chipping in - this is of course, If they wanted him.

Now hang about,
You had him as the next JT (An Immortal in waiting) a moment ago,
Now he's just a 'regular' quality NRL player? - Which is it?

Like I said, Good coaches go for the Good Players....
Might just be why your man signed with the Wooden Spooners to play for a bloke that'd never coached a day in his life?

ps: You got the 'Highly Unlikely' bit right....

All I am asking is what has he done in NRL to get everyone so excited ?

He has done about the same as Galvin, Bula or Pole did before they played. NRL. No doubt there is a lot of talent but we have to see how it translates to the NRL. What I do know is we need more quality in our NRL side and certainly imo he is an improvement of some of the players we have in our backline or some that have been in our backline and are now playing NSW Cup.

We need a lot more experienced players signed this year why not sign players like Brad Parker from Manly can cover Centre,Wing,Lock is still only 27 years old with plenty of first grade games under his belt, great trainer and very good role model off it as well.
100% mate. Job ready, proven 1st grader. One bloke in the side you'd never have to worry about aiming up.
Get him here for next game if we could.

I used to hear some commentators say that Walters and Buderis ultimately eclipsed Benny. No way. I reckon Benny was the best and most influential hooker I’d seen (80s onwards) until Cameron Smith came along. Hard to argue with Smith’s stats, but Benny was an unbelievable player.
Haha. How bad would it have been playing against him?

lol… he is playing at Manly ..not the 1994 Raiders .., they came 12th last year …and they have had Turbo out for most of this season and previous years they can barely win a game without him…

I think if we are being fair we should acknowledge his play IS vastly improved this season…. He couldn’t even make first grade most of last season here with as weak a team as they had in 23
No. He's not.
