Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Totally agree which is why I mentioned how long it took for Penrith to achieve the current success they have been having in recent times.

I believe he has started to turn things around relatively quickly at the Dogs.

That I’ll be ok for him then. My money is on Madge to takeover at the Storm when Bellamy moves on.
👍...good thought Needaname, and you may well be correct as he has said he would like to get back into club coaching again.
As you're a good thinker, what's your thoughts on Steph going to the Wabbits when he leaves Us.
Not much difference between being coached by Bellamy or Wayne Bennett eh.

It’s very hard to argue that we won’t be on the bottom for the next few years.

Luai will help but we’re likely losing 2 of our key forwards for next year and I don’t see our good young players sticking around unless they have no other options.
On paper we are losing 3 key forwards next year................. but were they playing as key forwards?
Not really, more bad days than good days.
We just have to get on with it. Lets face reality, we are talking of wooden spooner, under performing forwards that are leaving.
Fingers crossed someone out there can see the opportunity to get a dream ride into 1st grade.

Pretty spot on.

These forwards haven't taken accountability for their own games.

We have a decent pack on paper

They all should have delivered alot more than they have.

So who's to blame? When do they take accountability for their own games?

Canterbury has joined the elite race for Wests Tigers giant Stefano Utoikamanu.
The Bulldogs haven’t yet tabled an offer for the former NSW star but interest at Belmore is high.
There is a belief that Canterbury coach Cameron Ciraldo can extract the best from Utoikamanu.
The Bulldogs have kept talks with Utoikamanus secret – until now.
Utoikamanu is unlikely to remain at Wests Tigers from next year.
Melbourne Storm and the Dolphins are also interested (see below).
Canterbury wants to hold further talks to determine whether Utoikamanu has a genuine interest in moving to Belmore.
Utoikamanu is unlikely to sign with the Dolphins after previously being linked with Canberra at St George Illawarra.
It now appears a two-club race between the Bulldogs and Storm.
Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould is a known master in negotiating.

Don't know how much Stef would like or how it looks
with all these leaks coming out every week about
where he was spotted & what clubs he has met with.
I don't like him slutting himself around the place neither

New (& hopefully, improved) pack in 2025

Pole, Twal, Sammy & Sione, Seyfarth...
Miller, Kit, Sukkar.

Richo said we gotta 2m to spend as well.
How is that a improvement??????
Please the only way out of this mess we are in is to buy players that are 1st grade standard our so called development players won’t.

We need to get rid of Benji … idk who they bring in as coach tho. It’s a crap situation for Richo to be in bc he can’t sack Benji yet and they missed out on Wayne Bennet.

If we had Wayne we’d win a premiership next few years for sure!

Fckkkkkkkk a man can only dream.
And what do you guys assume Wayne Bennett would do with this current team as soon as he arrived, he would do exactly what Benji & Richo are trying to do,
He would offload at least 60% of the team, And you would say he is doing the right thing.

Its a real laugh, on 360 Tuesday they were prepared to Praise Jason Ryles for his clear out attitude of Parramatta's players that were not performing.
Then in the next segment they were talking about how bad we are for basically the same thing,
So for a team coming 2nd last we respect them for allowing Ryles to get rid of players that aren’t worth keeping.

But the team coming last with a bunch of BLUDGERS playing are doing the wrong thing in trying to change there roster,
And do the same thing.

Besides, even I we offered Bennett 2ml a season he would not come here.

So stop dreaming.

Was in one of our other threads , no club or player mentioned just negative response to our offers apparently , don’t hold me to it just whats been said , but to be honest , no news is good news , well not all the time , I feel the info is correct and we have not got anyone yet
By who?

Here we were thinking that the leaks from the club had been stopped but apparently not. '426Tigerland' is all over the signing offers and rejections, sourced from <checks notes> weststigersforum.com.

It’s much more complicated than that in a team sport.

Sorry for bringing that up Hal.
It’d be alright sometimes, I can’t think of any of those times right now, but at least you’re on the mainland. 😁
Lol. I relocated here 7 years ago to be closer to family but so much I miss about the north.
Just getting ready for a months holiday in Sydney including 2 WT games at Leichhardt. That will feel so good, along with a day at Randwick, Rosehill, Canterbury races, it’s been a long time.

Gee how many forwards can they sign up , they have just signed two front row forwards and a backrower , that’s on top of what they already got , do they come under the salary cap or Gus gets a pass

Look, I understand the dynamics, I played up until Flegg myself before being distracted by parties and girls.

Between the 3 of them they've had less than a handful of good games this season.... which to me shows they arent standing up and making themselves counted. Atleast Api tries, he's had a few games he'd rather forget, but he still busts his ass. The other blokes I mentioned if they put the same effort in as Api, which they should (considering how much they are paid) then our team isn't coming last.

They play/use the system well buy in players and if they don’t work out move them on.
Almost all other clubs do this as it seems to work.
But as we are a Development club we don’t need to worry.
Is there any other development clubs in the NRL or just the poor west tigers??
