Player Dramas in the NRL

But for pure luck Mam could be in a long-term relationship with "Stiffler" Haas' mother. Fortunately, he earned maximum carry-over brownie points from the 2023 GF and the NRL loves redemption stories.

Here's a picture of a carpet sweeper:

I think with Madge and Broncos backing him they already know he will only get couple months from nrl , they can’t judge between name calling and almost killing people whilst on drugs at the nrl , thank god nobody called him a name at the crash otherwise he goes free

The legal system baffles me.

How's he not in jail?
Nothing to do with footy players in both cases!!

Mam is not in jail because the driving offences are not an indictable criminal charge - and if it was he would be released on bail pending a criminal trial that would take 12-18 months before reaching court due to backlogs and lack of capacity!

As for JAC - he would not have normally been allowed to drive away after the intial positive test but the police were diverted to a major incident and F-d up by allowing him to do so!

HOWEVER - when the 2nd test came back positive he was fined $680 and suspended from driving for 3 months like every other first offender.... no court trial or criminal charge!

NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND REALLY!!

Ignorant & immature to think the law works like a Monopoly "go-to-jail" card....

Someone has taken their angry pills today. I've said nothing about footballers
To me, Mam should be behind bars based on what he's done allegedly. It's not based on law, it's based on common sense. Id say the same thing if it was my brother or friend who had been alleged to do that.

JAC should not have driven. You agree, I agree. Despite circumstances, he shouldn't have driven.

What a fing disgrace he will only face charges of drug driving and driving unlicensed
Yep very poor but the nrl has the power to punish , they just won’t do it , Drugs are rife in the NRL. That’s why they don’t have full time random drug tests going around to the clubs training bases , to many players would be suspended , it only gets proper punishment if it was Mr NRL. Wife and kid in that car ,
For me he should be out of the game
8 weeks - Drug driving
20 weeks ,- driving unlicensed , and causing injury to innocent mother and child and let’s not forget the poor driver , .
I wonder if driving on drugs and no licence means , no insurance just to top it off

Drugs are rife in society and always have been in some form - and NRL players are not immune from this. What's different these days for players is it's almost impossible to not get caught if you choose to indulge and clearly some are prepared to take the risk.

Blanket rule
Pre season start date till end of season incl test matches etc
Get caught with illegal drugs in your system 2 year ban , no exceptions
Put it in the nrl contract
It starts at junior level under the age contracts are given , or other, get it in early then the players understand from early on it’s a no no ,

There are potentially civil actions arising should the allegations be proven in court Note at least one or more of the innocent parties were injured in the accident. Medical expenses, especially long term, can be expensive and overwhelming for families.

I mean...He could've just caught an Uber or taxi home.

Nobody (else) would've ever known what he was up to that evening.

Mam... 6 month loss of license
$850 fine.
No conviction recorded

What a joke
That is shameful on the government....Loss of license is barely noticeable when you're paid $800k and can uber around the city for a few months. and the fine is a joke.

Seems in QLD you can crash your car when high on drugs and fracture a girls hip...$850 fine

and
Be caught illegally dumping a washer and tumble drier in the bush ...$2,580 fine
