Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Very much so . I think based on form most people with a rational look at the game , would say may is far more of a chance to give you value for money at the 650-700k mark than stefano was at the 800k mark . Chuck in Royce , who seems to be the forgotten man in all this , and tell me 1.1mil for Royce and may isn’t an absolute massive upgrade over stefano on 800-900k .
If Richo pulls it off , somehow we’ve gone from a weaker pack transitioning from ‘23 to ‘24 , to having a far superior one .
I think even Bateman might not be as big of a Dick when he gets here .
Funny what a few weeks can do in this sport .
If we get May - we still need another forward before we start saying “far superior”.

We’re losing Papalili and Stefano…. say what you want about Stefano but he’s a massive loss regardless on his inconsistency issues. I would’ve loved him with Luai at the club but unfortunately that’s not a possibility. Whilst Papalili is an international representative and imo a very very underrated signing for Penrith.

We still need another prop and edge rower imo.

Kobie Hetherington and Teig Wilton would be great value signings to fill those positions and I’d be pretty content with our squad.

I really think we are a chance of both.

Hetherington obviously covered.

Wilton as said is Bomber nephew but also the fact the Sharks have not re-signed him is big. Considering how much retention they have done.

signing players with a year to run on their contracts,no thanks - unless their elite, at least until our cap is in a superior space.Admit. Im a Big fan of Wilton

The Dragons and the Dogs have both made it public that they will no longer chase May because I’m guessing he told the them he already decided to go with us and it’s just not official yet. Got to make it look like they weren’t rejected.

The weight of info and or innuendo is definitely pushing the needle in our favour, we'll have to clear some roster spots up to fit him and Sione in. Ideally if Bateman is gone we need at minimum another backrower ontop of.

I said I wansn't absolutely sure, over the next two years. I think Burton will probably be better than Fainu in 2025, but by 2026 I'm much less sure. To be fair, that's an optimistic take - I really like the look of Fainu.
But whatever, I'll concede the point - their best is a safer pick than our third best. I still wouldn't take either Burton over either of our starters and if you offered me the corpse of Ben Hunt as a swap for either of ours I'd ask if you'd like me to arrange a mental health check.
Well I can understand not wanting ben hunt because of age and his immaturity, but Burton is still very young and can improve. Origin and premiership winner too

Didn’t dogs say they weren’t after Ciraldo as coach 🤔 was rumoured 2 days ago that May is coming to us

It was rumoured 2 days ago that May is coming to us and straight after that all of a sudden they’re no longer interested. It’s obvious they were turned down.
Ciraldo was never rumoured to be signed by a club.
