Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I personally love Seyfarth and am glad he’s getting (potentially) resigned. Though I’m not gonna lie my words during games by differ to that opinion. But when he is playing without the stupid mistakes he is no doubt quality and always has a rip in. One thing I’ll never fault Seyfarth for is a lack of effort cause he provides plenty. I think the fact that we have more forwards and quality players takes some of that load or wanting to impact games away from him so he can just focus on footy.

Lachlan Ilias officially released from the Rabbits, set to sign with Dragons today.

So that leaves Rabbits with no backup outright halfback behind Lewis Dodd for the coming season. They have options for 5/8 like Schuster, Humphreys, Wighton & Gray if Cody Walker moved to half.

But I hope they have a look at Bud Sullivan & consider a 250k:300k split with us for him for 3 years.
Bud Sullivan is still young with tons of upside. Just unlucky to find himself 4th string half.

He will be a good player somewhere soon.

Tim Johannssen is a lot bigger and stronger than most think .. he is very athletic for a guy of his size .. played number 8 in the Knock on effect cup .. but he is more suited as running edge back rower ..he'd be perfect to pack in the 2nd row with Sam Fainu .. both tall athletic players. Johannssen isnt afraid to the hard work either in running the ball up like a prop. I really hope Tim progresses this year as full time 1st grader. (he's around 195cm and 100Kgs) but with a full preseason with the NRL team under his belt will only benefit him putting on size, strength and conditioning needed to be an NRL player.
I’ve only seen Tim Johannssen coming off of the bench as a middle in NRL. I haven’t seen him play 2nd row in any grade but I haven’t watched much reserve grade.
He looks like he is mobile enough to play edge. Obviously with the lack of 2nd rowers ready to play 1st grade it would be in the clubs best interest that Tim Johannssen plays 2nd row. I like to see him train there, play trials there and start the season playing 2nd in State Cup , then move to the NRL 17 coming off the bench to play 2nd row to relieve Seyfarth.

So if were talking defense, were talking a back line of:
Mason,
Skelton
Olam
Turuva
Staines.

^which I guarantee we won't see this lineup all year.

If were talking attack:
Turuva 18 tries
Bula 10 tries
Staines 9 tries
Olam 6 tries

SKelton, Latu and even AD have crossed for 2-3 tries each...

No matter what, I can't see a starting lineup without Olam, Turuva and Staines!
tell me, how do you get our stats in an excel format?
I've always tried exporting them from sites but its a pain in the ass

As a backup halfback. They have lost Dean Hawkins & Lachie Ilias now. Bud could be a good contingency plan if Lewis Dodd gets injured or does not perform up to standard.
I think the latter is far more likely.

They drank the Kool-Aid on Dodd.

He's paying $1.02 to be a flop in my eyes.

Would have to disagree on Mason over Bula in defence. Mason tackle % may be higher but Bula saves way more tries on our goal line.

I to have been pretty harsh on Sayfart, but your correct if you take out the stupid penalties and errors there’s a good player in there. Although that could be said about most players, he seems to have passion and determination that a lot of players lack and can’t be taught. I think if he came through the grades in a team with a stronger roster he would’ve been making those errors in reggies, but on the flip side he now has plenty of NRL experience at a young age and if he can eliminate the penalties and errors then we may end up with a decent forward, and now we are building a decent forward pack, so I’m happy to keep him at a reasonable price.
He still looks like a baby giraffe trying to walk for the first time, but he’s our baby giraffe.
