No point, when the HBG is made up of 5 debenture holders. Unless you are part of the 18 there is no way to drive for change.

A board that is on the verge of expelling its only 2 member elected directors is a dysfunctional board.
I think this sums up the issue some people are having with the petition. No one is questioning the why as its pretty obvious to 99.9% of people on the forum that change has to happen for WT to move forward. I think what people want to know is how is the petition going to force HBG to change their constitution/governance. The 18 debenture holders are not going to vote to change. So you are relying on some government intervention which is a pretty longshot considering the current constitution has been in place for 70 years and HBG appear to be thriving as a club.

People said the same thing about the last petition. It won’t enact change, it won’t result in anything etc but then it was successful.

Do you have any alternate suggestions or are you just here to throw stones?

Hypothetical .. so if the Balmain Tigers do go alone .. and standup the Balmain Tigers in the NRL again .. who (which players) from this current team go over to the Tigers .. and who stays with the Wests Magpies .. ??
Hypothetically they are all free agents as their contracts are with WT.

It’s called critical thinking. Just us gotta be on the same page.
There’s a difference between thinking critically and not being solutions focused. Some people are just oppositional because it deflects away from their own inadequacies and weaknesses.

Not saying any of this above applies to you but more an observation from my professional experience and in these situations.

Sometimes.

I remember during the last petition everyone was outraged at the lack of success, but didn’t sign on because they thought it would achieve nothing. There was a lot of mudslinging and a lot of criticism but no one had any other pathway or solution to change the governance structure and ensure long term success.

I should have mentioned it’s ok to be critical but if you are always try to offer a solution or alternate option.

I see you're trolling me again.
It was a genuine question as to what the originators of the petition are actually hoping for - is it really to change the HBG governance which on the face of it is a big ask or is to create as much embarrassment and bad publicity to at least get HBG to finalise the review.
I'm not arguing against the petition- i signed it on day 1
As for the second part - i would also petition the NRL to step in and either force the finalisation of the review and therefore an independent WT board or to take control of WT with an interim board. They hold the licence so im sure they have the power to step in.

I feel like the embarrassment and bad publicity is already as a result of how the current board/system runs. It looks like a dictatorship to me, and therefore needs to change.

So if they are banned for 15 years does that mean their positions are vacated for that time and others next in line replace yhem or does it mean it just strengthens the power of the faction who found a way to remove them.

😂. Right I’m definitely trolling you buddy. If you signed it why create discord?

We need every Wests Tigers fan on-board to push this through but you stand on the periphery taking potshots.

Your questions have been answered ad-nauseam. If you agree with the petition why do you continue to play devils advocate?

That benefits no one except yourself and the people that should be ousted.

Honestly it’s deranged. Does it make you feel adequate?

For what’s it’s worth, I’m not opposed to the NRL stepping in to force HBG to implement the Wests Tigers new board structure. However that’s a short sighted aim. What happens when HBG decide to reneg on that or Julie and co have a change of mind, or a new NRL CEO steps in that has a different mindset?

That approach might not be a long term, sustainable or ongoing.

Any solution needs to be sustainable and ensure long term success and viability of the Wests Tigers.

I mean, how could a petition oust a CEO and force board members to resign? Oh wait...it already did. What does not signing the petition achieve?
