Speaking individually here, and not for Wests Tigers Unite.

The more I now know, in other words the more secrets I’ve been exposed to, the more I now realize that the people running this club for 25 years have a. Not been properly skilled b. Not been honest about their intentions.

We had may as well hand the license back if we’re going to keep going around on this entirely useless merry go round of Balmain and Wests.

Divided we fall, we’re falling people and it’s over two clubs that died 25 years ago.

The foundation clubs are mill stones around our neck and always have been.

It’s time to break up with our parents and their toxicity and go out into the world to start our own life.
This is unequivocally, irrefutably correct, Joel 👏

Well said and agree.

Well said.

I'd simplify it even more. No one would give a rats arse about the debenture system if the debenture holders were happy to have their snouts in one traugh only - The HBG board.

They could have continued to play musical chairs and elect one another into perpetuity (And their wives, cousins etc).

All they would need to have done is then select/recruitment skilled and capable people to sit on the Weststigers Board.

Instead we have individuals sitting on two boards they are ill equipped to be on.
Correct.

100 percent Joel the quicker we get rid of the Wests Magpies and Balmain Tigers the quicker we can finally move on.

How could you possibly interpret what I said as excusing delays in implementation? I was talking about reviews generally. I haven't followed this review as closely as you seem to have done. I didn't know the HBG board had accepted all recommendations. If they have, that's unusual. I'm also not aware of any timeline on implementing recommendations but there may be.
If you're looking for a fight, try somewhere else.
I was just stating the facts.
I can’t see how you consider that to be looking for a fight.

This isn't a secret. The people managing the club have been generally terrible. The irony is, the most qualified person we had involved in running our club, discounting Shane Richardson was Justin Pascoe. He knew how sporting organisations operated, he knew how to communicate with a board, and to his credit he knew how to bring money in (let's not argue about what money that was).

Previous CEOs had tried to bring in big name sponsors who didn't pay their way (*cough**Meriton**cough*) and didn't handshake deals which weren't properly documented. CEOs such as Stephen Humphreys were ineffective, but again he was at the club right at the the beginning of the dramas at Balmain Leagues Club, them closing Rozelle, and moving to the smaller locations, and trying to stay relevant (and we all know what happened there). Grant Meyer was simply the worst choice we could have had as CEO (he appointed Jason Taylor as coach).

We've seen exceptional board members come and go like Dave Trodden and John Chalk. And by the end of her tenure Marina Go eventually showed us how she could stand up to the "boys club". I'd like to see her back involved in the club in some way.

But for may years, the silly 2 year rolling chair from one side then the other.... It mostly just changed the strategic direction of the club as Balmain wanted to things their way, Wests wanted to do things their way.... Both were in contradiction and opposing views on strategy, so the club lurched from one direction to another.

We just need to wait now and see the end result of the new board members who are being recruited. When we see who they are and their capabilities, then we can make better more informed comments

Pascoe knew how to run a sporting organisation 😂

agree with all you are saying …

Anything more to the Balmain/ NZ story other than what the Mole said initially? appreciate they need to come clean …just wondering if I have missed anything

No I’m pretty sure I’m correct.

It was part of an agreement between Balmain and Wests Ashfield back in 2019.

There’s an article - Here.
The assets passed across to HBG (Western Suburbs Leagues Club) as part of the Amalgamation:
  1. Lease on the Markets Club (generating a healthy income)
  2. Pokie Machines - 60
  3. Pokie Machine Entitlements - 180

That was my point,
I replied in relation to the Rozelle site as it was mentioned as part of the debt buyout.
How Wests would be 'Buying' a site that didn't (And still doesn't) Exist
- That Balmain already sold and will never own (To be leased) is beyond me?

At best, There was probably an understanding the WA would put a Leagues Club at the site if it ever happens in the name of Wests Tigers (As they own it - And it's not like Balmain is ever going to be in a financial position to build a new club)

I thought it was the Markets or Five Dock Clubs Wests took over
(I also remember there being some kefuffle on Balmain Selling off Pokies and not telling anyone involved - Don't remember the exact details)

Will still need a lazy $100mil to buy and run the club properly and cover insurances, liability coverage, stadium rental, etc.
