Correct, and a system might work fine for one part of a business, but be completely inappropriate for another part. The debenture system has allowed people who have an interest in a football team to wield their power, but they should have been part of the club’s governance to serve the leagues club and its members.

Well that's not quite right.

The debenture system only allowed for this level of WA control into the football club with the commissioning of HBG following 2019.

Prior to that, WA never had majority control over football club matters win Western Suburbs or the WT.

It's a new system.

There would be no joint venture . The license would have been sold and the club would be under private ownership . That narrative is self serving . Whilst I’m glad there is continuity to the past of both foundation clubs , to imply that this link is doing anything other than holding the club back is beyond ridiculous. The wests bailed out Balmain for thier own self interest and nothing else . It was a mutually beneficial deal at the time.
It’s not ungrateful to call something out for what it is .
This type of “well the club owes wests” logic and thought is manipulative.

What's the petition questioning?

Illegalities re structure?

Unconstitutional behaviour and compliance?

What is the purpose of the petition? Lack of compliance re governance?

What is implied or accused that you would ask the minister and Liquor and Gaming to act on?

Any ex Western Suburbs Magpie or ex Balmain Tigers supporters who don't fully embrace the joint venture 25 years after its inception are totally ignorant of or completely dismissive of the whole generation of supporters who have grown up supporting only the Wests Tigers who have none of the pre merger biases nor baggage burdening them.

These "first generation" Wests Tigers supporters are having kids of their own now, with many having very young and/or yet to be born Wests Tigers fans, products of this very first generation of Wests Tigers supporters.

Any divisiveness from the old brigade is disrespectful, unproductive and needs to be called out and stopped at ALL levels, by and from the Board & CEO, to the Football Club to the members & the fans.

Let me help you guys out. I questioned the qualifations WHOLE board noting that David Gilbert was the most quality candidate on there.

To be frank, I remember not mentioning rick. It was mostly Dennis, Julie, Tony and Vince. (musician, middle manager, estate agent, car salesman) I remember also questioning Stapleton when looking at WT Board.
