The entire ownership group is a dysfunctional mess and the Wests Tigers needs to be allowed to have a setup that separates it from the ownership group.
You've just repeated what you said in a post 10 mins. ago.
Are you prepared to be the 1st person on here that is able to do a maybe 50/50 review of HBG and Wests Magpies.
There must be something HBG are doing that pleases you, and particularly you as the leader 🙁 of this current action.
If you are not prepared to answer my post in a way that doesn't manipulate what I have said, don't bother answering.

Romero looked liked she’d been dragged there against her will and seemed very uncomfortable throughout the whole thing.
Lightweight who should not be in her position.
I wondered what @cdinoz007 thought about it since he seems to know the HBG quite well.

I found the whole thing to be fluff although I did think Romero's brief amount of speaking time and that it was mostly spent commenting on people speaking about her/HBG was notable.

I've seen less hostility in real-life hostage videos!!

Well done to Richo in snookering the HBG Chair to put her name and face to a publlc assurance that the current (UNCONSTITUTIONAL) HBG Board will honour the review recommendations and the recruitment process for the independent WT Board members...

But if you think this is a happy and united family....

Based on Richo's previous comments i don't know how close the family really are but it is hard to tell from videos like this. Romero referred to them as being a "happy family", which if it needs to be stated in public then seems a bit suss to me, but that's why I mentioned it in my post.

What did you want them to say?

"We all hate each other, nothing is getting done becuase we despise each other so much"

Of course the video was fluff. What the video actually said was "We dont give a crap about what a small minority of the fans and members have to say, we will continue on the path we have planned for the last 12 months, and Carryanis can go and eat one"

I mean, we signed Richo to a 3 year deal. You really think he was gonna stick around if he wasnt getting support? We just signed our biggest shirt sponsor deal. We start the season off with the largest corporate backing we've ever had.

Richo was even smart enough to piss off a club sponsor who is now in ADMINISTRATION - at the time, the press was hounding the club that they had pissed off one of their long term loyal sponsors, who know doesnt have a pot to piss in. Smart move by Richo and the board.

And the HBG has finally pulled the pin on 2 blokes who were on boards of (and heavily influencing):

Western Suburbs Leagues Club Ltd
Wests Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club Ltd
Wests Magpies Pty Ltd
Wests Tigers Rugby League Football Pty Ltd

People keep talking about a board room "coup" - well, sometimes they are needed for the better! And I see this change in strategy at the owner level as a Good Thing.

And we start the season off with probably the best line up of players we have had in a decade or more... and the fans start arguing with themselves over the content of a report none of us have seen, none of us knows the content of,

The video wasnt a video which under normal circumstances which would have been needed. It was only produced to counter the jibber jabber being pushed here, on social media and via the press.

Will we ever know the truth? No.

The outcome of these actions are what is important.

I have stated this many times, HBG have done a good job of building the HBG, they run that business well. I have stated in the past that I think they were very inclusive of Balmain when they went into administration, the adoption of the Barnes name was very magnanimous on their behalf.

I have even gone as far as saying I would be happy for the HBG to have 100% ownership of the club.

I do however believe that the running of a successful modern-day sporting organistation requires a very different skill set to running a Leagues club.

I think across the board this club has had issues at board level in the last 5 years, that is Balmain, HBG, Wests Magpies and Wests Tigers. I don't think that can be denied.

Thankfully thanks to the review and the efforts of Richo, it looks like we will get a governance structure that sets the Wests Tigers up for success.

Every single point I have raised here I have spoken about on numerous occasions in the past so I don't really get the point of your question. I don't think you can say I don't say anything positive about the HBG, it is just wrong.

It has

Quite probably.

And I for one am hoping they just go quietly

(I suspect one wont go quietly - he used Ashfield as his daily meal ticket...literally according to staff there... he dined there (for free) almost daily

There will still be some who complain. Once we know who the new independant board members are, some will rile up and keep complaining that the board is made up of the "wrong" people.
I am happy to give the HBG time to implement the changes, independent directors appointed in the next couple of weeks, Then I would expect an announcement that the external audit into the implementation of the recommendations has been completed and signed off and then this mess is done.

Mate as long as everyone on that board has a background in business , and management / corporate governance of a sporting organisation then that’s all that matters .
Real estate agents , failed musicians , used car salesmen , businessman where that’s a very loose term …. They need to either be completely in the minority , or gone altogether .
Not the whole makeup of the board .

Do you concede that a lot of that disturbance may have been caused by the Balmain side of the JV not acting in the best interest of WTs.
Then throw in the Benny Elias disturbance, the Wiggles disturbance, the Balmain board member saying they want to break away from the JV and last but not least the Kea NZ disturbance.
All these things Imo have been designed to unsettle the board and show the board in a bad way, so lots of Balmain followers can heap 💩 on the board.
wtf … Balmain have near zero power . Get over it! Attention seeking nonsense

The majority of Wests Tigers supporters have been critical of those actions as well.

It does seem old school though.
I dont disagree. It is an old method of running a social club. But thats the wayits been since the leagues club opened.

And as I have said elsewhere.... members voted in the directors at Balmain Leagues Club. That was surely a great example of why everyday members should not vote in their directors.

The entire board of Balmain Leagues club appeard to be selected from clown school. None of them had a clue what they were doing. I mean, how long has Dawn Fraser lived in QLD? Sure, she was born in Balmain, but how often would she actually visit the club?

I think the only person on the Balmain board who was skilled enough to sit on the board was the late John Chalk.

I mean, Dr Glen is on the board of the Balmain footy club - he is in his very late 80's. Gary Leo is in his early 80's... time for new blood perhaps? I know we like to have experience on a board, but when does this "experience" need replacing?

Not really surprising when they are effectively a junior league district that is funded by the HBG. I doubt they are going to attract high class directors.

Its not about power...
Attention seeking
but your following sentence was right... they are attention seeking
...and what they are reported to have said to the press (or apparently leaked to the press) was indeed "nonsense"

One doesnt need power necessarily to cause trouble... you just need a loud enough mouthpiece and an audience waiting to listen to whatever gibberish you spout. And some lapped that up!

These were the same directors running Balmain Leagues Club. Besides, surely even with a "junior" football club, there are "junior" people involved in the club who could represent that organisation?
