Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Definitely a lot of dodgy deals. On the cash payments this did leak at one point. The golf matches for massive amounts of cash, brown paper bags etc..... was only a rumour and joke to many. Then there was a news article or two maybe 10 years ago with quotes then shortly after it all went eerily silent.

There's a chance I'm misremembering and others may be able to correct me or back it up.
I know one of the Roosters biggest players of the last 25 years. Roosters give them their contract legit to the n.r.l, then uncle Nick purchases a property through one of his companies rents it out to the player for $1 dollar a week. When the player re- signs sane thing happens, the player moves into the second property, etc, etc. If they sign and re-sign twice they would have lived in 3 properties held under one of uncle nicks companies and pay $1 a week rent. Once they retire, or leave the club and move on to another club, solicitors are called in and each property the player lived in, begins the process of being signed exclusively over to the player for them to take ownership. Been happening for ages, since uncle Nick got there and got the board set up with all the high flyers that are there now.

I don't know if he is a ball hog or if there was just nobody else last year but I am expecting a better season from Galvin with less time on the ball but better quality touches

And his comment about Luai being a teacher's pet sounds of jealousy I hope he is not jealous but he is 19
Biggest thing to help his game will finally have consistency with a permanent half next to him, being Luai will also be a huge benefit aswell. Would be hard for a young guy in his first season having halves next to you chopping and changing every few weeks. Once your established you just deal with it, things happen and it's expected at some point that your halves partner won't be with you every week. As a guy in his first season, that maybe why he was always trying to overplay his hand.

Noone has suggested anything resembling a "dreamy utopia"....

The rest of your post is just ignorant opinion - thanks for sharing!
What was ignorant opinion apart from the "dreamy utopia" part. He did receive deals from souths and eels. He was one of the best junior halves growing up. None of that is relevant now though

Honestly if Galvin left and become great it wouldn't bother me, as long as if Latu takes over and kills it. It's not about a great individual, it's about a great team. Great individuals like ponga win dally ms, not premierships. Ask any player what they'd rather, and it's the latter

Rumour from a close source is that Robbo is on thin ice at Roosters and if they don't make the top 8 this year which is likely he will be sacked. Early replacement is Matty Johns according to my source

Seems a lot must have gone down in this off season considering Robinson and his wife were injured whilst on an offseason get away on one of Politiss' Properties just a few months ago....

10 years of Brooks didn't teach us that quality halves are hard to come by.
Great halves like Cleary win 4 premierships in a row.
We've finally got our hands on a potential dynasty building half, let's not just let him go.

Not many come over from the old dart recently and make it, only a couple of Aus teams seam to pick the right ones, not worth the risk for us.
Well we don’t need a 5/8, but he’s an exceptional ball runner/playmaker and would be perfectly suited to fullback in the NRL.
If Bula and/or Mason reach their potential this season we won’t need a fullback either, but that’s a let’s wait and see situation.
Bevan French is bigger, stronger, smarter and a much more complete player since he was playing last in the NRL playing on the wing for the Eels.
I’d say it’s highly likely he plays out his career in the UK Super League at this stage.
