OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I really couldn't give a .... until I see more, and a fair bit more at that, before a proper judgement can be made on Galvin.

If he goes to market in November, whoopdee doo, the club can choose to join the bidding or not, and if he re-signs beforehand, we can only hope that it works out..
After round eight we’ll have a pretty fair idea of where we’re at as a club. Getting sucked into click bait before then is not advisable.

You realise Cleary followed a similar path even when Penrith were well placed with Soward, Wallace, TeMaire Martin.
Played a couple of 20s games in 2015 but was finishing school played Aussie school boys before debuting in first grade the following year.
I dont care.
Im not talking about anyone else in a different system

Well you talk about rushing him. Yet in 2023 we played him in SGBall and allowed him to finish his schooling / Aussie schoolboys comp, reps agaisnt players his own age. We could have pushed him into Flegg or even cup when he was 17/18 and fast tracked his development.
He obviously came into pre season 2024 surprising a lot of people with his fitness, state of mind and readiness otherwise he would have played Flegg / cup last year.
Different path for different players. Given his injuries through last season, Latu seems to be benefiting from a slower transition into first grade.
We are lucky in a way we have Galvin ready and we don’t need to expose rush Latu too quickly.

When your assessment criteria is wins, and you support the Wests Tigers, you’re going to come to the conclusion that everyone is hopeless.

You only have to look at the many examples of players who have left and are now winning (handsomely).

It’s a collective issue and we need to identify players who’ll add to the collective. I personally hope Lachy stays, but only if he wants to. He’s a rough diamond.
I totally agree with you, I hope Lachy stays too.

The only thing I dislike about being a Wests Tigers supporter is that anytime we get geed up by News Limited about a story involving our club, half of us notice the rubbish and say its a slow news week, the other half react to the garbage these dopes dish out.

Neither Galvin or his management have said anything about leaving, he is still with us and we want him to stay. The amount of drama some of our supporters drum up isn't beneficial to supporting our club or trying to keep our gun players. The kid obviously reads social media and having any of us react negatively has to stop. We are building up to something nice and long term.

If after eight rounds we are still in the same or worse position and there is no improvement, Benji will be in the hot seat in a big way. I still think we are about to turn the corner, when we do there will plenty wanting to jump on the CROCODILE ROLL BUS!!!

Team first approach.

You can bet your life Gus Gould is putting all focus on Galvin to take focus off his own young players getting attention that he wants to retain.

No club wants to be forced to pay outrageous money on potential no matter how highly a young player is rated.
This isnt a Gus job. I actually think Gus would like to sell Galvin stay at the Tigers.

How fickle are we as a supporter base?

Lachlan hasn't said anything himself. It's all hearsay via a bloke who the world knows is a piece of sh1t.

Meanwhile, fans are calling for his head, calling for him to be sacked, dropped to reggies, released early.

We've been burnt too many times before, so I totally get the reaction. It was my first impulse too, but that just means the jerks in the media win, and we end up driving him out ourselves...

We need to show Lachie some love, not hate, not emotionally reacting to every clickbait article scum journo writes.... they speculate, its all they can do... what a job eh.... i couldn't live with myself doing it, but each to their own...

How can we do this, on mass, to show Lachie we want to keep him?
It isn't about throwing a 10 million dollar contract him, he needs to feel like he belongs at Wests Tigers...
How do we do that, as a fan base?

I don't think it matters who the manager is; although Moses is particularly prickly. The managers are loosely playing within the rules the NRL has set out.

Why is there is so much angst? He has been offered an extension and knocked it back because he wants to see what the maket says he is worth. Wests Tigers may be his desired destination but he wants to get top dollar. If he is offered $1M per year by club X we have the option to meet it, or not. Depends on what we believe is a fair proce for what he has to offer. We get to make the choice to pay it or not.

In the meantime he has to play out of his skin to get the top dollar offers so it is benefit to us. If he gets a great offer from another club and we determine it is not worth us matching, or beating it, we are still in a great positon as we have him for another year on low $ or we can trade him early for someone of better value to us.

We simply need to control what we can control and make decisons on what is best for the development and longevity of the club.
People are determined this is an impossibility and cannot happen

Very blinkered view imo

We did rush him. He skipped Flegg against young men and KOE against hardened and experienced men to go straight into first grade against elite men.
His results in the top grade were not that great last year yet he has become extremely over hyped and dare I say over rated by people with alterior motives. We are now facing a situation where we are likely to be forced to either cough up an unreasonable amount of money to keep him, potentially losing other players who are more developed, or he walks.

The scars of yesteryear are still etched in our souls. Not as much fickle as embers still burning in the loss of our heart and soul. Business over humanness. Galvin embodies the way the world is today.

I think Isaac Moses will be helping himself first then trying to get his family member Mitchell to try and win a premiership at Parramatta then Galvin third

The only problem I see in Galvin not going to Parramatta is Jason Ryles he comes across as a guy who won't pay big overs and needs a nine more then a 6

this is a very valid point.
Latu could end up being the saviour because of the slower development.
