Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Richo needs to do something about these reporters making shit up to sell news stories. It's de-stabilising for clubs, for players, sponsors and fans. Galvin has 2 years left on his contract and even 6 months or so until he is free to negotiate. This shit shouldn't be spoken about atm. The seasons only just started.
He's handled it the whole time. He'll handle it again.

I swear once we re sign Galvin Da silver and Jarome activates his claws we won’t have anything to worry about it’s gonna be great. Off field is sorted.
no leaks at all And a group of players that look super committed I can’t even remember the last player who has asked for a release and that’s saying something for the 3 time wooden spooners.

Haha mate,

There’s a reason the keep making these stories up. People click on them.

It’s a quantity game, not quality. They are essentially gossip journalists 90% of the time.

Once the re-sign, the narrative will shift to ‘how can the tigers fill their roster with so much locked up in their spine’ 😂😂😂

Making players understand that wanting overs means we cannot build a competitive squad around them is the hard part.
I’m a big Galvin fan and desperately want him to remain a Wests Tigers player long term, but I nearly fell off my seat when reading reports about him potentially being re-signed for 1.2 million per season.
Matt Burton is reportedly earning 800k per season, how can Galvin be worth more than him at this stage of their careers ?
Surely it’s a bluff from his manager as I can’t see any other clubs paying more than 800k per season for Galvin at this stage of his career.
Similar with Luai, we signed him for 1.2 million per season in good faith when no other club would pay it. He is not worth any more and surely he knows it would be impossible to have a decent team with him if we did go any higher.
Then we have the issue with keeping Latu Fainu happy and keeping his brothers happy at the same time.
It would appear all 3 are on more than fair contract money, but is the big contract value alone enough to keep Latu happy if he is not a regular in our top 17 ?
I get the feeling he will become unhappy if left out of our NRL top 17 for too long, but the question is how do we fit him in and does he realise he needs to kick the door down by dominating at NSW Cuo level when selected for that team. I don’t think there are any other players being paid 500k while playing NSW Cup, so he needs to be the best player in that competition.

Like it or not ..Brown’s deal is the new benchmark ….he is not much more than an above average player ..hardly close to elite … but he is on $1.3m from next year … Burton’s contract is old news

The salary cap is going to going to go up considerably in the next 3 years ….PVL is predicting the new TV deal to be 3 billion which is 50 percent more …the elite players salaries will increase at a similar clip …

The problem is that all contract values will go up and the players union will get a increase in the basic salary, so at the end of the day all clubs are in the same position. It’s been like that since day one of the salary cap

Nrl tonight seem to want to create story's around Galvin and even Luai
Truth is there is no story !!
They don't let truth get in the way of a headline
If you don't have a headline then make one up and as soon as someone replies then your story gains "traction "
Fact :not one of the 16 other clubs can even talk to these guys till Nov 1
IMO they seem happy and proud to be part of this big Tigers Resurrection
easiest job in the world being a journo now days ,follow a trail on social media discontent ,blow it out of proportion . No need to get off the couch or leave the ladies lounge at the local. Take a bow ,were all keyboard worriers

True what you are saying in regards to Dylan Brown, but even with an expected salary cap increase, we would be struggling to stay under 12 million if paying Galvin 1 million per season and that’s factoring in a medical retirement for Olam.

Forget Burton...I'd swap Tyran Wishart to play 6 on 700k for Galvin on 1.2 million any day.

Galvin is good, but there are many examples of quality players...some may argue even better, that are taking less.

Crazy money 💰
