Why? It was 20 - 20 from last post. Not 60 - 18. What happened?

Okay got it. Thanks. Not at the game. But in all seriousness if we lost the game cause of a scrum - and not defence - it could of been the referree. Cause im pretty sure - if you wanna play NRL you gotta know how to pack a scrum. And the good news is that it wasn't an attitude problem. Just a scrum. Thats much easier to fix than attitude.15 seconds and they couldn’t pack a scrum in front of the goal posts !!
It’s not pretty to watch.Why? It was 20 - 20 from last post. Not 60 - 18. What happened?
Some poor kicking options from Conti too but thought Max Taotua was our best & our backrowers, Leatigaga, Will Craig and our starting props held their own. It’s not pretty to watch.
The 5/8 finds it hard to pass a ball in front of his team mates so they can run onto the ball, it’s all very clunky.
Yes Max Taotua definitely outshone his brother today, as you say he’s a real handful when he runs the ball. When we talk about wanting to develop physical specimens, he definitely fits that category. Some poor kicking options from Conti too but thought Max Taotua was our best & our backrowers, Leatigaga, Will Craig and our starting props held their own.
Where did Zac Jones come from--- replaced a forward according to NRL?Yes Max Taotua definitely outshone his brother today, as you say he’s a real handful when he runs the ball. When we talk about wanting to develop physical specimens, he definitely fits that category.
Leatigaga probably has the least suitable body shape of the forwards, but it’s no doubt he was the best of them, all heart and soul.
Will Craig played well, but I’m not convinced he has the weapons required to push for NRL selection anytime soon.
Agree Kanaan was great, he’s been a proven regular try scorer over the past couple of seasons, even when in a team that was struggling badly.Superb return from Cameron Kanaan. Best performance by a fullback in any of our grades so far this season.
Taotua bothers, Broederlow & Saukuru were beasts on the edges with skill.
Great individual try from Iverson Matai & a belter 40/20 from Levi Conti were highlights.
And huge shout out to the entire pack, dominated the ruck and attacked with our swarming defence.
In saying all of this, Manly are a bottom 8 side in Flegg.
I'm with you @Vicious the Taotua twins have to be retained for the reasons you outlined.Agree Kanaan was great, he’s been a proven regular try scorer over the past couple of seasons, even when in a team that was struggling badly.
If he can keep continuing to improve, we could have a very good player on our hands.
Sorry to keep raving on about the Taotua brothers, but they are the prototype big, tall, strong, aggressive, fast and athletic types of players that all NRL clubs are looking to identify and develop.
They still have plenty of flaws and parts of their games including defence and errors that needs plenty of improvement, but they are exciting talents and I’m certain if we do not retain and develop them, they will end up in a rival NRL system and highly likely play at least some NRL before too long,
Yes Max Taotua could be a real hidden gem, has plenty of skill along with his size and speed.I'm with you @Vicious the Taotua twins have to be retained for the reasons you outlined.
They possess what we have little of in the club. Mitch Taotua is as much of a prospect as Lachie Broederlow, and is one year younger. And Max, wowee, did you see the speed of the catch/pass for Craig's try, that was outstanding plus multiple tackle breaks!
We have some good fullbacks coming through in Kanaan, Tavana, Oitmann & Brookes (all 19-21 years of age). No need for Mason to be a fullback when he potentially could be just as good if not better as a 5/8, centre with some cameos at dummyhalf in the Connor Watson mould.
All of the above just seems common sense to me!
Which of the above mentioned SGball boys are finished with school?Strong Jersey Flegg team playing Knights sitting 13th/14. We have Tino Tavana & Max Liles returning from NSW Cup last week and captain Tom Fisher returns.
This team is building some consistency in the lineup and positions which can only be a good thing.
I suspect we'll see Kanaan and Tavana swap positions at some point some both get reps at fullback and wing. Both excellent prospects who could excel in both positions.
We're very strong on the edges now and I love what Leon is building with this team. We've got workmanlike middles with Epere, Leatigaga & Plati great to have on the bench, all played well last week.
This team has everything to play for ... possible promotion to NSW Cup for some players plus holding out our top SG Ball players in future.
It will be interesting the likes of Makasini, Haywood, Godinet, Taupau-Moors, Tauaifaiga, Tannous, Duncombe, Oitmann & Brookes rotating in and out of this team. I suspect these Ball players will be given a week or so off and then focus on some conditioning & strength work whilst on the training paddock with these guys (even NRL squad). So maybe another 4-6 weeks before any get a run, I maybe wrong.
Pretty sure all except Makasini.Which of the above mentioned SGball boys are finished with school?
