OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

So it’s come out we offered him $6m.
5 years plus upgrades to this and next season.
The manager and Galvin’s dad wouldn’t return calls or messages, they also said don’t come back with another offer as Galvin won’t sign.

This isn’t on Richo, it fully on Galvin cohort.

Add in Galvin 3 release requests last season.

Galvin is in for a very rude shock for what will come next I feel.
It’s more on the club than the ‘Galvin cohort’. They are doing the right thing for their client and son.
Richo’s part in this came from allowing Benji to play him so much last year in the way he was played…especially when these rumblings were already occurring. We should have proven to him that development is a real KPI at this club for being selected into such a pivotal role as a spine player who touches the ball so regularly.

I actually feel relieved.

I think it's important that a decision, one way or another, was made- otherwise you have Latu Fainu unsure of his career path at the Tigers.

Now we know.

Only question is how ready are the Tigers to move on from Galvin?
This would make me as Latu feel a bit odd, that now im only getting the attention galvin had AFTER galvin knocked back their 6 million dollar contract. would make me feel unappreciated at the very least. I wouldnt be surprised if Latu might chirp up soon. Lets hope not

I doubt it. He has made no indication he wasn't happy at the club.

This just takes away any doubt of his role.

The fact it has come to a head means the club & Latu can go forward knowing their path.

Someone is going to ask the question about where that dough will go now.

Lots of teenage stars but not that many who have come straight into grade and had an impact like Galvin. Remember he came straight from school. No Flegg, no Cup. Think Galvin has what it takes to kick on, but now couldn't care less whether he does or doesn't. Latu is and will be the better half.
All media hype, he hasnt done shit except stuff up 90% of the time he has the ball. Cant kick cant pass on both sides, cant make a step stick to save his life, cant bowl and cant throw. Piss the wanker off to reggies

The best thing WTs can do now is nothing. We pick the best spine this week and next week, even if it includes Galvin (he can play lock, centre, 14 or even reserve grade if required but he will only play in the halves if Luai or Latu are injured) We keep the poker face on and let the dust settle and we keep winning games. I'd be guessing that you won't hear anything else from the club regarding this matter, especially from Benji.

Benji had already stated that a spot had to be found for Latu in the weekly 17, so his appreciation was well documented.

Genuine question. Why do people think any team is going send a star player over for Galvin? It’s the team that is going to suffer the longer he stays. Imagine having a person next to you that wants out when you are putting your own body on the line every week for your brothers & fans. Guys like Luai with championship mindset aren’t respecting a person like this, he will just bring the team morale down.

Here’s an example I seen today on Facebook. Before DCE announces he is leaving manly they conceded 18 points on average, since the announcement 28 points per game on average. For attack pre announcement 33 points per game, post announcement 22. Might not seem a whole lot but that’s a 20 point swing overall, to me that just shows the effort has gone down knowing someone the club has built around is dogging out. It’s hard bust your a$$ every game when you got a guy next to you having rubbish media stories put out about your coach & club.

I’m getting the feeling we will see some mental health problems in the next few weeks… Francis Molo did the same after he was denied a release until he got his way

Also does anyone else find it odd that DCE randomly asked for a release last off season the same time as Galvin? Sounds like a coincidence until you remember this manager is also looking after the coach at manly & would have inside info about what was happening… Just speculation obviously but the NRL has to take some of the power away from agents IMO

Jersey Flegg don’t train with first grade would be the answer. They can pay anyone to stay home if they have issues. Richo has all the leverage in this case. A player swap will happen to create space to get him to the club of choice on a big deal.

That’s fair, just shouldn’t be anywhere near the 1st grade squad if his manager keeps leaking rubbish stories to the media I think
