Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The only (non-halves) players I would swap Galvin for are:

Payne Haas
Haumole Olakau’atu
Angus Crichton
Liam Martin
Pat Carrigan
Stephen Chrichton

All are highly unlikely if not impossible. We have our spine sorted and just need a killer 2nd-rower and to keep our starting 17 fit. I like Hopgood from Parra but is he an equal trade for Galvin?

Better to keep Galvin until end of 2026. He'll grow from it, will be forced to pull his head in and will at least get a premiership ring before he leaves. 😉
I don’t care about Galvins growth anymore. I do care about ours though and so we need to focus on what the best strategy is to achieve that objective now.

You could add Tino F to that list

In all our games we’ve struggled in the forwards for large patches. Without May we’d be cooked.
Yes I keep on saying it the need for another big middle and two 2RF's for top 17 and depth is needed still.
With all the movement that could be about to happen targets could arise from Knights/Manly would be my prediction.

Several things...

Firstly, we HAVE May. So what's your point?

Secondly, Pole is averaging 146m a game himself and big minutes.

Thirdly, I said 'out of the backfield', referring to out first 2/3 tackles, taken by our outside backs, who are proving very effective.

And finally, I'd argue that your entire premise that 'In all our games we’ve struggled in the forwards for large patches' isn't based in reality at all. And if it is, then why not suggest a forward...?
I think the point he was trying to make is a couple of key injuries in the forwards and we look weak.
Surely you agree we need more depth, you seem like a smart guy.

Point 2 (IMO) is quite specific!
If the WESTS Tigers lose against the Eels on Monday I will be interested BIG Sirro on what your post game thoughts are?
I’m happy to share post-game thoughts, but whether we win or lose, it has no bearing on your original claim — that he's "without doubt" a top 17 player. That’s an isolated and absolute statement.

The eye test tells you we’re losing the battle at the ruck. Watch Melbourne next time they play and watch what they do when the attacking player is getting to his feet. They take away about 6 inches of his space and make subtle contact with his upper body. It probably equates to about half a second. When they get up to play the ball themselves they walk forward or to the side of the marker.

It’s subtle but they get away with it.
I thought PTB speed was a usable stat when I pulled together the controlling the ruck deep dive. What I found was that 50% of the teams that won had the slower PTB speed. when I dived into it a little deeper I found that it really doesn' stack up as a stat worth worrying too much about.

I understand where you are coming from with this; however, Melbourne have one of the slowest PTB speeds. What they get away with in playing off the mark is forcing the oppositon onto the back foot just as the play the ball occurs - more in your face cheating that simply doesn't get pulled up. They aren't the only ones though - when was the last time you saw Herbie play the all on the mark? He hardly ever gets called back to the mark.

What I think this achieves is having the refereee and the opposition line moving back at the moment the ball is played which affects the opposiotn line speed which creates time and space for their playmakers. I think if there was a crack down on playing the ball on the mark it would have a significant effect on the Storm and Dolphins.

For info , here is where the clubs sit at the moment in respect to PTB speed. It clearly shows that it is not a stat worth spending too much time on.

Sorry can't get the data to post.

Gee Bruce Wayne's Parents, I am concerned that your commentary is mirroring that of Lachlan Galvin's Parents in respect of his future footy contract.

It’s okay to admit you said something stupid, little buddy. You don’t need to deflect and double down on it to all but confirm you’re just another moron who has the critical thinking skills of a toddler.

But you do you, kiddo

Yeah, I’ve noticed the off the mark stuff too which annoys me. We need to do it too if they’re not going to police it.

An easy one to pull up is the crowding however subtle, because it’s a rule that it’s not allowed and teams should be getting more six agains . I hope our coaches point it out ahead of our game against the Storm.

I don't feel sorry for him, he's 19 Iv met 19 year olds working 3 jobs with 2 kids. This 19 year old can't even call Anasta at 360 to say I don't agree with what my manager says I'm grateful to the Tigers and supporters for everything, I'm not happy about what he has said about my coach so I'll be looking at using another manager as this one doesn't represent me, I still will not be re-signing with the Tigers, but won't allow a managers personal views attempt to damage the club who have provided every opportunity I have today.
Kid can't even do that, his line, I'll leave it up to my manager. I wish I was a jurno so when he or his father say were leaving everything to his manager I'd love to reply, are you that useless, let the poor woman he marries one day know, he leaves everything to his manager.
Mate 100%. At 19 I was starting my second apprenticeship, working 7 day weeks (weekends were unpaid to get experience). Helping pay off mum and dads place, volunteering and starting a buisness i eventually spent the next 20 yrs working on.
This isn't a wowwee look at me post. This is a only being 19 excuse is pitiful.
I'd be livid if I was his dad and followed his managers advice. Galvin has been shown to be closer to 9 then being a young man.

BUTTFACE! I love your name and have been wondering how you achieved that title? Me thinks that you have misinterpreted my previous posts.
The Mrs calls me that when I’m a smart ass, which is regularly, and for about 20years or so. It is my online poker handle.
I was a big fan of Bugsy as a kid.
If I have remembered the wrecking ball thing incorrectly then i sincerely apologise. I may be a smartass but I can be corrected.

BWP time to start playing fair! At the end of the day we all hope that Wests Tigers continue to win footy games and the club put the Wooden Spoons way way in the past.

Webby on 370 reckons we will make a play for Adam Reynolds.
I love Latu, but if we could get Reynolds for 2 years with Latu learning from 2 great halves that would be magic and our team would be incredible. Reynolds will spend time on the sidelines with injury and Luai may make origin so Latu will get his fair crack without putting the weight of the world on his shoulders too early.

I've heard worse ideas.

Please God no.

Reynolds is cooked. Latu has good foil there with Luai and the brothers.

Dont impede the Fainus.

As much as I have come around to Twal and Seyfarth, we need two back rowers.
