OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Hi guys haven't been up to date with what's happening with him regarding a possible player swap and who we could be looking at, unfortunately we've had a bit going on up here in taree this week
Hope you haven’t been too adversely affected up there mate, but it looks like the whole town went under!

Honestly Gus and bennet are brilliant.
They literally take all the shit people through at their clubs and protect their coaches and players it blows my mind that people don't see that.

If souths have a shocker Wayne has a miserable press conference not because he is but because he knows the media will dwell on that and not player performances, Gus is the same if the bulldogs struggle and they did early doors he would drop something crazy or fight the nrl big wigs do change the narrative.

Exactly! Words are bullsh!t.
Gus goldfish Gould makes a habit of defiantly denying interest in a player only to come out and say months later that was then this is now to justify his porkys.

The best one was saying they have no interest in Ciraldo as their coach but then what do you know, the classic bullshit artist.

Can just see him smirking in his office with his sidekicks laughing and saying nothing personal just business.

And Gus said emphatically that the Bulldogs have no interest in Lachlan Galvin - s@$_t has changed and so have both clubs stance and probably for good reason. You are either with ius or your not.
Pus will say whatever whenever to suit his agenda. He is a consistent liar, and a lot of us knew he was only doing it to sign him from the first moment he called his name.

With us or against us. 👍🏻

Go on LinkedIn and look at the profiles of young professionals in their mid 20’s. They’ve all had half a dozen jobs, none lasting more than 24 months. It’s the way of the world.
Side note, has anybody else noticed the amount of people on LinkedIn who are working in a role someplace but actually have that “open to work” halo around their profile pic? I’ve not paid a lot of attention until I’ve noticed some of my colleagues with it on their profile. Bit awkward with the boss when they ask about it….

You don’t break contract , you don’t bag your club , and you don’t go and sign for your teams rival .
Break any of those tenants and you’re putting yourself in harms way , with the fans and the zeitgeist .
It’s just the way it is .
Everything you have said is old fashioned.
Players break contract every year. Clubs break contract every year.
Players sign for whoever they can. They dont care about petty rivalries. In fact rivalries are the domain of fandom only. The players couldnt give a toss about them.
I agree that you shouldnt bag your club but once again, it happens a lot.
Thats where I think Lachlan erred. He didnt need to give a reason. We likely work it out on our own without being spoonfed.
Benji couldnt coach a fish to swim.

Yeah, I hate him so much, I wish he was here. 🤷‍♂️
Hate is a strong word, I don’t really spend time hating him, but you know what I mean Rock.
He has the nrl under his foot and it’s like they don’t even know it. I wish we had someone who can get away with the crappolla that he does working for us.

We should have grabbed him when the riff showed him the door, we would be a much stronger club now B.

Yep...and he'd be correct. You never give a mug a break. Hopefully one day we'll learn to not be that mug.

He has never said it however it may well be what he meant.
If so, he is right.
Benji is a useless coach.
Its not all his fault - hes had no preparation or training.
If he was behind Sheens getting the chop early though...well you reap what you sew.
At this point in the season, can we say that he is a useless coach?

He has 5 wins. Could be 8 (Souths, Newcastle and Warriors). 2 points off 5th.

Lots of teams below us with "better" coaching pedigree.

Shouldn't we wait for the season to pan out? Seems to be doing better than any other coach over the last few seasons so far.

I just think once Galvin goes and we can get rid of that weekly talking point, things will settle down.

This concept may be old-fashioned to you but I kind of like it.
Thats all well and good, but at the end of the day we live in a dog eat dog world and employment loyalty is rarely rewarded to the same extent that those who go and get their piece recieve.
These kids may not get the big dollars with better clubs, but theyll play finals and win premierships and make rep squads. To genuine footballers, Galvin and TDS are both that, it is worth more.

I think we are saying the same thing. TDS and Galvin should have only debuted this year. They aren’t as good as Benji and Robbie at the same age, I absolutely agree.
Where we differ is I don’t think they should have to show loyalty simply because we debuted them early. It is a very old fashioned concept.

I agree with you.

But the two aren't mutually exclusive. Just because we live in a more flexible and modern working world, there still remains and will always remain, a place for loyalty.

There are still examples all across the league, to this day, of players staying loyal to their incumbent club, in, and for, a variety of contexts.

One's junior and debuting club, especially where there is a clear pathway for you (as with Tallyn) is as good a reason as any to expect loyalty.

I like the concept of player loyalty.

Whilst I understand it's nowhere near as common or practical as it used to be, it still exists and that is thanks in large part, to those in the game who still continue to encourage loyalty as a personal and/or cultural quality, particularly as it pertains to footy.

... Even if it's not common any more.

Yes we can.
He has proven it for a couple of seasons now.
Of course we should wait for the season to pan out, but surely hes unlikely to proceed to next year unless things improve.

Its a romantic concept.
Its also a foolish one.
Look at Brooks. He stayed loyal, saw no success and copped shit for it left right and centre. He finally says screw this, I want something better and plays finals his first year away and gets selected for the PMs 13 where he plays very well.
Im sure part of him thinks he wasted a decade being loyal whilst those who flew the coop were rewarded. As a 28 year old he stood up and took what he wanted.
