Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There is no way in hell the RLPA signed off on this unless the Tigers had some decent footing.
the whole thing stinks to me
- A young rep level football player gets sacked from top grade,
But doesn't even go get a park footy gig just to keep at it?

It's like that Topine thing - If they wanted to be a footballer...
Why aren't they playing football, rugby - Something?
last I saw - Miller was fighting? Apparently he's going to Parra - they've got a squillion dollars of middle forwards playing ressies, Why isn't he there already?

Seems to me some of these blokes want someone to buy their shoes and tie the laces for them.

all any one here knows is what we read in the media … and to my knowledge the club hasn’t made any comment on the matter …

Let’s see what, if anything transpires …. Perhaps we will never hear anything again …. If it’s BS on his behalf than it shouldn’t be too hard to disprove what he has said…

Which is strange, I understand Richo and the board wanting to be self sufficient, but when you have Holman Barnes Group as an owner, funds should never be a problem. Adele was saying our pathways and scouting programmes are massively under funded and we cannot compete with other clubs in that space. Richo should go to Holman Barnes and ask then to start pouring money into the joint.

Biggest misconception around this Joint is that Wests Ashfield have plenty of money...
And they own Wests Tigers, Therefore - It shouldn't be an issue.

They might have more money than the pope - but they don't spend anywhere near the amount they should on this club... Never have.

I've said it many times,
I remember a meeting where it was discussed by the higher ups, Maybe 15 years ago...
One year, Canterbury Leagues Club gave 4 mill to the Football operations
- Must have been around 12-14 when they were red hot.

Wests Magpies and Balmain gave the Football operations (WT's) Less than 400k total
(Between both of them!!)

And here we were thinking we can compete.

That's my point - We've not heard boo out of Clint newton on the matter...
If the player had any grounds - That simply wouldn't be the case.

Think Millers biggest issue was his appetite, he needed to lose 15kgs and improve fitness to get anywhere near 1st grade at any club.

Was overweight for years, had plenty of time to do something about it.

it’s an odd one …

If there is one place that will have a definitive timeline of where he is at a particular time, it will be a cop shop where he is conducting a formal interview… if it’s BS perhaps he should have been a bit more vague with his choice of excuse …

I agree that it’s normal to have discussions about player expectations but those discussions should take place behind closed doors and remain private. The manager apparently made public statements in the form of an ultimatum that involved another player. That’s not respectful of API or the club and reflects badly on TDS. The vast majority of players are able to manage negotiations with the club without the drama. AD represents himself and seems to have no difficulty. If true, it’s a shame, I had the impression TDS had a team first mentality and was more level headed than this.
You know what. That's completely fair regarding making it public. I'm so use to the Tigers buisness being made public i over looked that it isn't actually public information.

Currently our first choices of an outside back sitting outside the Top 17 are Faataape, Naden and Staines…who are all off contract at the end of this season I believe …I will certainly be open to new players coming in
TOM
You do realise that you just named 3 players.
Richo is due to make an announcement.
Please please NO
😩😩😩

I think the club will look to activate that option for 2027 …from memory it means they have to pay him $900k …

I’m hoping he decides to extend here .. the decision is his at the end of the day, not the manager
He is growing as a player and is no doubt currently our best attacking player, but are you convinced he is value at 900k per season ?
Obviously we don’t have to make that decision just yet, but I’d like to see more from him to be comfortable he is worth 900k per season.

Something out of left field …

I gotta bit of a theory that Miller’s fitness wasn’t up to the offseason army training camp , and they didn’t want him there as a distraction not able to keep up, and also setting bad examples for what was going to their big off season culture changer …

Anyone with me ?
Miller can actually play footy , has a really good tackle technique and is pretty clever with his positioning and has good hands ,, I’m dirty they cut him ,, but they always ditch whatever player I like at the moment and seem to refuse to replace them .. it’s ridiculous

Dom Young to knights allegedly before June 30th cut off.
Hopefully KPP to us then before the cut off also
They are very good mates, Dom Young heading there enhances the chances of KPP staying with the Knights.
If our recruitment had any idea what they were doing they should have tried signing them both.

Bula improving his defense as last man preventing tries would be a great start, too many getting past him.

They will need to make the decision by May 2026 … so I would take all that time … I think you should know by then …i predict they keep him and try to extend him …

His NRL stint amounted to that one game against the Titans at LO I think … he was carrying a lot of baby fat … seemed to have a lot of good size otherwise …he was probably a few more years away from regular NRL even if he got fitter
