The HBG hired independent auditors to investigate the club. The auditors advised them that they needed to elect an independent board to run the club.

That means the independent advisors literally told them they are the problem and can't run a club.

So now they have appointed an independent board and due to this have perceivably no actual influence in their own asset.

Except for the fact that the board still is elected entirely at the leisure of the HBG.

But at any rate you will not see success anywhere that the owner of the business is not actively interested in its success. And our owners appear very much not to be.

Indeed. What I don't understand is if they have been told and accepted that they can't successfully run the club why they are continuing to put us through the misery of it.

They aren’t the only shitty owners in world sport by the way… ask Man U fans what they think of their American owners

Yes it's because they like the prestige of owning an NRL team. They like the glitz and glamour of it but when it comes to the nitty gritty they are not only incapable but their existence is an active detriment.

And yes I know they aren't... But this is a forum for discussing the Tigers lol.

Gentrifying rapidly like Cambo.

It’s an interesting era for both areas.

It’s all happening out our ways. I like it out here except it’s over-pantherized.

Richo still has friends out here from his panther days.

He comes across as a blokey bloke, but he’s got a lot of formal qualifications. It’s good he doesn’t prattle on about that like Seibs does.

Just making the point - don’t expect them to sell the team because they suck as owners or might have feelings for the fans ( they don’t )

Out of interest, how long do you give a CEO to make change that is acceptable to you? Is it a 12 or 18 month limit before you believe that CEO has made zero difference? Do you base it on results only or do you compare performance also? By that I mean is losing by 2 points the same to you as losing by 60?

Could you tell us how you would have done it differently had you been given the reigns?

Would you have ignored the finances because winning would take care of that part?

How would you have guaranteed these wins? For example, Bennett, Flanagan and Hasler are all premiership winning and experienced coaches, yet sit well out of the 8. 2 of those guys were suggested for the Tigers by the forum. But going on what they are delivering, it's hard to imagine they would have made a difference to us.

How would you have shaped the roster. And if you would have done it differently, how can you, in the armchair, guarantee that you would have signed these players or alternatively, not lost players.

Help me understand what your methods would be to achieve your outcome within 18 months.

Just a reminder - the following current NRL clubs have never won an NRL Premiership:

Canberra - Rich
Dolphins - Rich
Warriors - RIch
Parramatta - Rich
Gold Coast - Rich

I have a podcast on this subject with 39 episodes if you actually want to know my perspective lol.

But it's a bit of a strawman because I'm not actually making a point that I think Richo should have solved our woes in 18 months. I'm making the point that making mild profit on low revenue is not an indicator of likely success and level that blame at the owners not him.

My only criticism of him is going on 360 and claiming it as such.

I drink at Panthers some times have breakfast at the bistro then sit near the big TV downstairs or outside on the grass area

One thing I have noticed about Penrith the young people love the shoes they mite be wearing $10 jeans but they have on $300 shoes

I think I just like the drink more some days then talking but as you get old you start going to more funerals

A big Part of your life disappears friends gone never coming back and I like having a drink chatting about football and I feel I can connect to people of all ages over football

If I am at Panthers or Juniors or anywhere I can have a chat about footy

Football and alcohol the great social lubricant

Remember though, that the new structure allows for complete independence from HBG at WT board level and Richo himself has reiterated, as recently as last night, that he was granted full corporate governance as WT CEO.

Ergo, all the restructuring was to take HBG out of any proper decision making at club level which is now, thank fully, in place.

So whoever Cook's replacement is, he'll have very, very little impact, if any at all, on the running of the football club.

I'd probably go so far as to say zero.
