Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

What’s this fixation with people constantly repeating that Brooks will be the main man cos DCE is gone. Do you not realise they have signed Fogarty? You see, Manly figured out in a year, what we couldn’t in 10. He is not a halfback or an organiser. He’s a runner. They probably already knew that when they signed him.
Sarcasm meter broken?

I continue to see a lot of posts on this forum and comments on some of the Wests Tigers podcasts that we only really need one dominant middle forward recruit to make us genuine top 4 contenders.
While in theory of course this type of player would be a big help and could potentially help us get somewhere near the top 4, but who this player and where are we getting him from ?
I know some say this player might magically pop up similar to how we got Terrell May, but if you look across all team lists, the stereotypical alpha forward is very few and far between, their teams are not letting this type of player go.
Then you look at who is coming off contract for 2026 or 2027 and although there are a couple of decent options, there is nobody that has that wow factor.
So what do we do ? Do we take a risk on an ageing aggressive player such as Braden Hamlin-Uele, or do we pin our hopes on potentially signing a younger up and coming player who could develop into somewhat of an alpha such as Davvy Moale who is currently available for 2026, or Samuel Hughes or Liam Henry both currently available for 2027 ?

2026 will be his year, when he takes control of the team.
A couple of old chestnuts there trotted out yearly by the Brooks is great brigade.
Thankfully we won’t waste the next ten years on Garfield Gal to find out he’s not a HB, thanks Pus.
Brandy’s call is harsh, but fair, watching the game it was half hour in before I realised he was playing, and towards the back end you could see DCE trying to win the game for them, what was his 5/8 doing? Writing up a menu in his head for the afternoon BBQ.

Why are we taking about brooks , he is no longer our problem , just like when nofa left , really don’t want to read anything more about them , OH , yes that includes Galvin the little pedal , unless he does a acl

Which one is Garfield Gal.
Obviously not the big black one.

I

Who is saying that ? I have not seen anyone say Top 4 …

You also think that an NRL experienced middle will not come on the market sometime in the next 6 months ? I’ll have a bet with you that they sign one before Round 1..

Wests Tigers Faithful - will be live on YouTube and other platfroms a bit before 1700 today. Opportunity to ask questions in the chat on the side as well. A combination of analysis, updates on all grades and a bit of banter mixed in with the odd rant. Not as in depth on plays as Adel was but probably provides the best overview of the club as a whole.

I have no doubt we will sign a middle, it’s the quality of the player that is available for us to sign that is in question.
Many people are generalising by saying we only really just need a quality middle.
Quality middles are very hard to come by as every team is looking for them.
I think we need a little bit more than just one quality middle to become genuine top 4 contenders, but that’s another story.

How is Kit progressing in KOE? Just checked some of his stats and looked to have a productive game vs the panthers a few weeks back.. he'll be 21 next year . Will he be ready for some impact of the bench - or does he compete with Royce for a spot?

I mean …what’s the definition of a “quality middle”?

Someone better than they have now for their best starting pack would be my yardstick …. It’s not unattainable…

No one is saying Top 4 either

I would say by Benji only selecting him on our NRL bench once all season and he didn’t even get on the field, suggests Benji doesn’t think he is progressing as well as it was hoped he would.
I’ve seen what I believe to be good improvement with aggressive ball running from him in a couple of NSW Cup games this season, but it needs to be more constant than what he is showing at the moment.

It’s a low standard when Charlie Muzza is getting picked ahead of you
