HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Why do you expect that from Meilekamp?
Because it's obvious that HBG want to maintain control, if they wanted to allow the board and CEO autonomy they would have left it alone. Now iv no doubt you and Cochise are spot on and he's a great operator, Richo knew what he was doing and wouldn't have hired him otherwise. The problem isn't Mielenkamp, the problem is the HBG board. We could have Jack Gibson here, if HBG don't allow the club autonomy and want in on every decision he wouldnt get the club anywhere.

I'm a HBG member and like most are horrified by the conduct of the HBG board however, I won't resign my HBG membership as there could be an upheaval and subsequent vote such as scrapping the debenture system, the board elections or whatever, who knows?? My instinct at this time is don't patronise the place but, hold on to your membership "stay in the tent" and "keep your powder dry"!!

We need to support all WT staff, Benji and the team to the hilt but, during matches this season voice or demonstrate our displeasure to HGB unilaterally in some orchestrated way?

According to my research current HBG directors who are debenture holders are Burgess (Chair),Montgomery, Tropiano, Liubinskas & Di Michiel. Independents are Primerano (Deputy Chair) & Yabsley.
Current WT board members Burgess & Montgomery both debenture holders can anybody confirm?
Known debenture holders include:
  • Peter DiMichiel (Chairman)
  • Dennis Burgess (Chairman, also a Director of Wests Tigers)
  • Kevin Hammond
  • Daniel Lane
  • Clare Burgess
  • Fiona Shand
  • Russell Smith
  • Brian Cook
  • Mick Liubinskas
  • Scott Beynon
  • Paul Marsh
  • Allan Fallah (Appointed recently)
  • Leo Epifania (Appointed recently)
  • Bob Cairns (Appointed recently)
  • Tony Raciti (Appointed recently)

I don’t particularly have any confidence in anyone HBG appoints …

If the NRL is not going to curb their authority somehow tne place is up shit creek
I just can't see them hand picking someone to do whatever they say, or they would have just left things as they were 2 weeks ago.

Ok. Fair points.

Question- did HBG govern what Richo could or could not do?

What control did they exert over Pascoe?

Why would they do different with a guy like Mielenkamp?

If Chammy said so I guess we’re cooked, call it off, someone email him and apologise for stalking his Instagram account. Tell the lawyers the independent directors and Richo are crooked. Ask PVL to stop investigating, he’ll only find trophies in our cabinet.
Mate its very australian for regulators to do nothing. ASIC are known for softness don't see nrl being any different

While your agreeing with a bloke who reckons
I’m a disgrace, I happened upon this alternate view to the claim you made the other day re’ threats of violence from the Lidcombe crew. Thought you might find it interesting 👍

Most of my posts here are angled toward playing devils advocate and trying to stress there are two sides to every story.

If that’s disgraceful, then so be it 🤷‍♂️
Are you claiming i made threats of violence?

Julie Romero? Or was her's stripped?

Im not saying he is a great operator, just filling in his experience.

Clare Burgess. Wife of Dennis.

Julie Romero was the partner of Peter Hardgrove. His brother was John Hardgrove, gave up his debenture holder status.

The Hardgrove's appeared to be good people, but as you can also see, It's simply a clique. It's who you know.

I distinctly remember Pasco being quoted saying while at the Tigers while being criticised that there were things he wanted to implement that HBG knocked on the head.
Imo HBG did not govern what Richo could do that's why imo the independants were removed. They stack the board then can control how much autonomy Richo has. Though Richo is autonomous he just runs things so that would never work hence he walked.
That's my point exactly doesn't matter who's there they will be either aligned with HBG objectives or hamstrung cause HBG will vote it down at board level. We had Madge and Ivan Cleary who left. Both hamstrung due to interference at board level. The board intervened with Madge cause he was too hard on the players, Cleary reportedly saw the boardroom politics and knew it wasn't good for success.
Hasn't exclusively been HBG Wests Campbelltown and Balmain were involved aswell. But there's a repeated behaviour of owners at Wests Tigers whoever they are thinking they know how to run and operate a rugby league team like they're playing fantasy football, people who actually know how to run as far from it as they can.
