Must be contract year.
I did, but unfortunately that means nothing when we have owners making rash decisions like we saw earlier this month. I know people are going to hate me for bringing it up, but it's the reality. Whilst we as lifelong fans are bound to the club through loyalty and emotion, the players are employees. If the company you were working for was a basket case, you'd think twice at some point. The only saving grace is they are have bought into Benji's plan; without him we'd be royally stuffed.Did you see Makasini's jersey presentation with his family? I don't think he's going anywhere, especially if the club is on an upward trajectory.

Yep, but we all saw it for the band-aid solution it was and it does nothing to address the root of the problem. No one in their right mind thinks Benji deserved a contract extension that long, not even Benji! That's why they extended him
Odd he’s from St Mary’s,One is a proven first grader/rep player
The other one might be
Good pointOdd he’s from St Mary’s,
How’d Panthers ‘miss him’
Panthers - who were the top team since this lad was 12…Good point
Yes how did they miss him , and st Marys is the biggest feeder club for panthersOdd he’s from St Mary’s,

Benji doesn't strike me as a moron, Schuster no chance he would entertain it.As long as he dosen't come here i don't care where he plays.
I agree but Mays playing an extra 300min a year, im sure he would have so much more impact playing the proper minutes a FR should play. I think it was clear Benji played T.may way to much, and needs to manage him better to get that kind of impact Keon is producing. Rate them both very highly. For a team that needs to build a forward presence : leader $1m for Keon isn’t the end of the world, Haas isn’t going to a rebuild especially for $1m.
Dragons will pay $1m plus for 2-3 players anyway Keon is the best of what is available by a mile. It solves a massive problem for them.
Who else is on the market mix that with 2 new teams and the salary cap increases = prices increase. We as fans need to realize that.
As to Keon v May most players would prefer May running at them than Keon.
If he shows good signs with his training, work ethic and early season form, you would assume we would then try and lock him up for a few more years.Ok I don’t understand why we would sign this kid for 1year , unless there’s a clause in it ,
1) why waste money on him if he’s going to leave
2) surely benji would have sold him a picture and he has a clause to extend if he’s hits certain goals
Other than the above, it is a strange signing
100%. That extension was BS way of trying to smooth things over. I love Benji and would love him to succeed, but seriously what will they do if we finish towards the bottom with a side Richo claimed had a spine equal to any other and a side hes not looking to add players to. Something tells me next off season will out do this one with this lot.I'd say there's a very good chance of him being put to the sword with their track record and wouldn't be surprised if he's under pressure if they don't make the semis next season.
That extension means Jack to them they will just blow the F place up again thinking with their narrow mindset it's for the best.
Theres no doubt the Roosters get players for unders but they have clearly shown they are on another level to most clubs when it comes to running a club. Personally if i had a son playing league i would advise him to sign for unders to play in that system.....Not to mention the Perks that Uncle Nick will have in place post Careers endThey are just the best people on earth.
Roosters, broncos, bulldogs, storm they're all so honest...
Both are signed for next year anyway, though I reckon it is pretty clear that the last month of board disasters and departure of our CEO would be at the forefront of reasons.Hi does anyone know why we haven’t re-signed sione yet ? what’s the hold up with him & bula ? thought he was great this year
We are so bloody slow in locking up our own players…dunno whyHi does anyone know why we haven’t re-signed sione yet ? what’s the hold up with him & bula ? thought he was great this year
Was confident of Bula being extended until the cruise missile blew up the joint, don't know what the F is going to happen now. Both are signed for next year anyway, though I reckon it is pretty clear that the last month of board disasters and departure of our CEO would be at the forefront of reasons.
In this case it could also be due to the owners basically nuking the joint putting everyone on edge. I doubt we’ll hear any signings news until well into next year.We are so bloody slow in locking up our own players…dunno why
Most fans will be calling out HBG again if he does walk. Can’t really blame him though if he does they made us a laughing stock again. Was confident of Bula being extended until the cruise missile blew up the joint, don't know what the F is going to happen now.
