Jahream Bula #269

How could you possibly wish him well after he was given the opportunity he was given and then went on to disrespected the coach and the club the way he did.

Sorry mate, but in my book that makes him nothing but a low life scum bag and no better than Mitch Moses and his sleazy manager.

Cause sometimes we just have to move on. I had really hoped that both Moses and Cleary would crash and burn too after the way they left us, but look how that turned out! Holding onto a grudge really isn’t worth it.

The Galvin saga was essentially about loyalty, which we showed him through development, on-field opportunities, and what was potentially a new lucrative contract.

Richo and Benji handled what was a difficult situation well.
It wasn’t about loyalty — that’s just fan scuttlebutt.

It was about development and where he believed his career would be best served. He was convinced, both by people around him and by what he personally saw and experienced, that he would be better off elsewhere. At the time he made that decision, the evidence overwhelmingly supported that view.

And as for saying Richo and Benji handled the situation well — I don’t agree. One of them did.

Benji handled himself well. Richo didn’t. He was useless throughout that whole saga and, in my view, caused a lot of the mess that followed. The way he carried himself came across as unprofessional and immature. Benji, on the other hand, was the complete opposite.

Pressure from family, especially parents, can be the worst. We’ve seen it time and time again, in sport and in other areas of endeavour. I think daddy, in particular, wants to live vicariously through Lachie or he may just have his best interests at heart. Who knows.

In any case, it was all handled very badly and exacerbated by the media which ultimately went a long way to derailing our season. I guess the negative vibe it caused throughout the club emanating from fact that Galvin really didn’t want to stay here is why people would view him as cancerous. Anyway I’m glad he’s gone but I wish him well.

If the Bula situation even has an inkling of turning out the same way then he needs to go too, and quickly, imo. We simply cannot afford another season with our contract issues being played out ad nauseam in the media.

I was happy Richo got on the front foot you have to go through it the Roosters got on the front foot with Moses after he screwed them around and it hasn't happened to them again

With Bula the hard part is he knows everything about the club the players and coaching staff there is no secrets and to have two offers in front of him and nothing done yet says alot

If I was Benji I would be pro active in the background asking about what's happening with Drinkwater and the young fullback at Canberra who can not get a game stuck behind Weeks

You say Richo and Benji handled the situation well…one of them did. Richo was useless during that saga and he caused a lot of the crap that followed. Totally unprofessional and immature is how I’d describe the way he carried himself. Benji however was the exact opposite.
He was poorly advised due to a relationship breakdown between Isaac and Benji and Richo was the mediator.

Regardless, I see it as a blessing. As Benji said, if you're not with us, there's the f#*king door.

I don’t think he was poorly advised about the coach nor management. He saw it with his own eyes for a couple of years.
Richo was a terrible mediator. That situation could have been dealt with so much better.
I don’t mind Benji’s new mantra, it is an improvement on his last 3 years here. He does need to be mindful though that this club hasn’t earned the right to apply a hardline approach yet.

How do you know it was accurate ? What a load of shit . Professional footy players swear by Benji, his CEO who has seen more coaches than probably anyone swears by him , but forum guy says the opposite from 2000km away … like how does your brain conjure this shit ….
The list was released by Moses stooges Riccio and Read in thier articles . Richo then confirmed the list and how abhorrent it was for an 18 year old , and his manager , who’s never played footy in his life, to have a list .
There is evidence we are better without him , as the club went on a run , a pushed towards the finals , ultimately failing because of key injuries at crucial times . Like the right edge almost to a man going down injured the final 15 minutes against the cowboys …. Which exposed the teams Achilles heal , there was real depth issues . Most agree this has been resolved this year .
Your favourite is killing another club right now . And they’re quitting on him just like every other team before them . He will be gone by the end of the year … everyone with actual knowledge , says Benji was doing a good job , and Galvin and his bullshit killed the club . The reason Benji threw the keys at Galvin was because sheenius and McDonnell decided the top 30 of 2025 would be 50% children , and filling the squad with experienced players like klemmer and Bateman thinking they would lead these kids . When actually both had a reputation of being coach killers , and locker room cancers themselves . It wasn’t until the shit coach with no idea , got away from the sheenius list and recruited his own players does the team actually now look cohesive , and as if it’s going places .
Those early years Benji would have relied heavily on the sheenius and the dickhead duo . And they screwed him over , with a shit playing squad full of the usual suspects re. Wests tigers . Old blokes here for a paycheck and young guys with egos who should have been in jersey flegg earning their spots no matter how talented . He’s done an amazing job picking the right guys who either love the jersey , or love him . And this year hopefully , the proof will be in the eating . So stop death riding the coach , and spinning the narrative .
In fairness to Klem, I don't see him as a coach killer.

Bateman though, 100%.
As well as Paps, I think the environment around Parramatta was fairly toxic. As good as Gutho is, the contract negotiations with him, Moses and Matterson would be a nightmare. Paps woudl carry all that with him.

Bateman though is the one you blame Sheens on. Contrast this with the Sharks hiring Dale Finucane. Guy is a dream to coach and won't argue.

The Loch Ness monster, the Yeti, and Bula's an elite talent.
The three biggest myths in the world.
What game did you watch . 2 try assists , strong out of yardage . Poked his head through multiple times , was sniffing around the ruck and should have had a couple of tries himself , if not for Deardon being Deardon ( go back and watch the line breaks and have a look who’s next to Bula on both of them ) .
He played pretty well . Plenty of room for improvement .

You’re all just doing the same thing you do with every potential player who leaves … if the tea leaves look like he’s leaving (which they don’t by the way , not until 2028 anyway) , the. You all just death ride to ease your pain.
Like all of you last year were all on the Galvin hype train ,until he wanted out became public and it’s “he’s shit “ “overrated”. He is overrated , and very predictable , but none of you guys saw it until he said he was leaving . Only people like myself and @Tucker and few others were saying it . And everyone knows what we think of each other .. so it pains to rap him.
My point in all this is get out of your feels and wake up to yourselves. Because we have a great fullback … who in any other time period would be rated top 5 . Only we are in the age of the fullback . Where most team has 2 or 3 . Even we do with Attard ,Isedale and Brooke’s coming through .

I can't believe some of the morons in this forum. How did Drinkwater go today?

Actually where is Tucker , must have been quite a confusing and conflicting day for him today?

Dunno . Don’t care . I just thought it would be not fair to not include him in that . As he was heaps vocal with the “Galvin is not that good” stuff . Which is ironic because now he sings his praises as being just a misunderstood kid lol .
That’s all I’m gonna say about him , as I’m sure we will be telling each other off in no time haha
I really dislike that bloke .. and I’m sure the feeling is mutual .

His usual diamonds … then not just rocks but faeces riddled , im not sure they’re rocks or cow turds … rocks .
I would not be wanting to swap Bula for Drinkwater when you factor in age and projected improvement over the next couple of years.
Purdue is the only fullback who could replace and be an improvement on Bula.
Unless we could make that happen, Bula is a must keep.
