I really don't get this mentality - If we really are a changed side that wants to make the finals it shouldn't matter who's in the opposition team and what their form is like.
We should relish the challenge of playing last year's grand finalists.
Sure we have players out but Melbourne have lost 7 in a row, are we seriously crying because they are getting players back that are seriously out of form.....
Plenty of teams deal with injuries and whislt we have some key players out we should really be confident of going down there and getting the job done given their form.
If we can't what's the point of making the finals we would just be making up the numbers if we can't beat an out of form storm .....
Completely agree. I think it is a losing mentality. When you then consider how many teams we've come up against that were missing key players or lost players mid game we've probably already had more than our fair share of good luck for the season.
Sharks not key but a centre and both wingers.
Raiders a front row a 2nd row and winger. Then lost their 6 and other back rower during the game.
Broncos fullback, lock and like 3 hooker options. Then lost their best front rower mid game.
Knights fullback, halfback, centre.
Eels fullback and centre then 4 backline injuries during the game.
Warriors. Only a fullback and an edge. Arguably we were assisted by their out of form 6 returning to the side.
Rabbitohs. Probably no one key but their first choice hooker, halfback and a back rower.
Cowboys. Only a back row and lock. Plus their fullback carrying a significant rib injury.
Now every team is always going to have injuries at any given time. So I think you could put a similar case forward for all sides. And of course we have had a player or two missing along the way as well. I just think we've had a better run than most with who is missing against us. The woe is me defeatist attitude of a player returning is a bit much.
