We cannot contain their beast on the left edge Bishop Neale who starred for Qld U/19’s a few weeks back.
The production line of high quality backrowers in the Wahs system is crazy. Laban, Halasima, Fatialofa, Neale and I am sure I have missed some too. Add in that the NRL system had Niukore and Capewell this year too....insane depth coming through all grades.

I’d like Benji to try and sign some of these young gun players. They just look so big, fast and strong. All our juniors seem to be midgets

Max Taotua’s form has fallen off a cliff since last season.
Similar with Logan Brooke’s, his confidence has dropped dramatically and he cannot tackle to save himself and his good attacking qualities have also disappeared.
Max Taotua’s defence at centre makes Makasini look rock solid.
The coach should not have stuffed around with the halves who were getting the job done when we were going well.

Why is Brooke’s at centre isn’t he a fullback? Idk why our club feels the need to mess with everyone’s positions all the time

He playing fullback with Attard at 5/8.
Early in the season I was thinking Brookes was an equally as good prospect as Attard, but fast forward to now and they are worlds apart.
Attard has talent, he is a diamond in our ranks, but his best position is not 5/8 and he needs to have a real good off season putting on plenty of size.
Glassie Glassie as a centre is another who could really explode in 2027 also.
Sonekbectell Taulau-Moors it is the 2nd half when he first runs onto the field.
His 1st half is always pedestrian and then he comes back in the 2nd half and starts playing with the intent to utilise his big frame.

I was at the ground today and agree with the comment on CTM.

Part of the pack that was dominated in the first half and CTM wasn’t running hard. He seemed to be better in his stint in the second half.

I do have my doubts that he is too one dimensional and won’t have the same success as he progresses through the grades. Seems to lack the leg speed and mobility required to be effective at NRL.

He is only young so can improve, however speed is a hard thing to develop (especially for a big guy)

Who do you think are genuine NRL prospects from our Flegg team from today?

Harsh to judge on one game, however based on today Mitch Taotua has some skill/attributes at least which could be useful for a NRL career. Some good moments today (mixed with some not so good). Not surprising as he was dropping back from some time in Reserve Grade.

Archie Duncombe at least has a mix of positive attributes, works hard on both sides of the ball, has some leg drive.

Glassie still only young, even for Flegg. Not the best game today, however was moved between centre and wing. His family were the loudest in the crowd today!

I agree and think you are spot on.
I’m liking Glassie’s progression, plenty of power and aggression, I like his potential.
Those 3 and I keep seeing quality in the way Attard runs the ball, I think he could really explode in 2027 if he has a good off season adding some size.
Like you have stated, there are concerns about Taupau-Moors lack of mobility, but I still think there is hope with him.
Huahulu is a possibility too.

Not too many shining lights in Flegg on Saturday except for Duncombe (as usual), Mitch Taotua & the workrate of Jeriko-Talisau.

Disappointing 24 hours all round for the club in men's competition, with only a handful of the 50+ players used in the 3 grades possibly won their position against the Warriors.

18-0 now. The Warriors are not only bigger, they're faster, stronger and better organised. This club is so far behind the pack it's not funny.
When we repeatedly get the basics wrong in squad selections and recruitment is it a surprise we only have ~18-20 players of first grade standard in our NRL top 30?
We don't have good prospects coming through. Ideally we'd have at least a dozen players who we're confident will make it at NRL level, knowing that in the end less than half will. When we're thinking maybe 2-3 players will make the step up in reality only one will. Our system isn't playing the odds correctly

I feel the best NRL prospects we have in this week's JF team are Glassie Glassie, Jack Attard, Archie Duncombe, Christian Taupau-Moors, Siotame Havea Jr, Filipe Huahulu & Pheonix Godinet, but they all are lacking in an area of the game or physical characteristic to be extremely confident of making it.

Probably the 2 that stand out to me as our most likely are Glassie Glassie & Archie Duncombe. Glassie just has that concentration lapse in him otherwise a stand out for me. Archie, purely his work ethic, effort areas, stand-out leadership & I think he can further develop his body (so much reminds me of Tyson Frizell even in his running style).

I agree with your thoughts there but would add CTM in there as well. He is a big kid that just needs to fill out a bit and improve his involvement levels. I think he is a bit quicker than some give credit for , there was a game in Flegg a few weeks back where he hit a short ball into the gap an ran about 50 metres and i was suprised how quick he looked. Every time he has stepped up to KOE he has looked good. I think patience and some good coaching will see the best of Christian. Also , i like the look of Huahulu, tall athletic and good work ethic and i think he is just as much a prospect as Glassie. Tigers have some good kids coming through thats the good news.

Just got to develop them properly and not rush them.

What's happened to Pheonix Godinet? there was huge wraps on him even talks about him potentially debuting later in the year but seems to of declined massively?

Shows glimpses of his skills, powerful runs & crunching tackles but hasn't dominated a game yet & tryline defence has let him down a couple of times.

Ability is still there for all to see, just seems to lack involvement ... hopefully takes improvement & lessons from this season into a big off & pre-season.
