I just cant agree with this. In terms of financial background, he was given a bail-out by the NRL and the groundwork for that was laid before he took the CEO job. The club would have not improved their financial position with member numbers down, crowds down and a number of the sponsorship...
In what continues to seem an ever mounting debacle, one thing is becoming increasingly clear - we dont have the leadership to take this club forward. By this, i mean our day to day leader, the CEO.
Mayer is a PR guy, not a professional CEO - often, but not always, loving to attach his name with...
Warren Macdonald deserves most of the credit for this. He is the one responsible for the juniors. He signs all the Keebra guys and all the 20s. Pretty much all of these kids were signed by him on good deals.
Mayer more responsible for NRL signings.
So the first action in developing a "new culture" is to release a long-term player to the Sharks.
Im sorry, but unless i have been teleported a couple of years back in time, this has been tried a couple of times over with Gibbs, Fifita, Heighington and Ryan.
Thats not changing the culture...
Most clubs would wish this were the case. No, not paid on a win - they get paid same amount no matter the result.
Yes they also get rep bonuses, but very rarely Top8/Top4.
The injury crisis is not just hurting us on the field this year, it is actually going to seriously affect us next year and we are already seeing the signs of that.
With the scale of injuries and more importantly the length of time players are off the field (Galloway, Moltzen, Ayshford, Lawrence...
I actually bumped into Brett at the airport a couple of weeks back. I met with him in one of the member/forum feedback sessions he ran and he was always very open and friendly whenever I saw him.
He was headhunted for a global role with Nitro Circus back in May.He said he spends a lot of time...
Disagree - all of the above players you mention, play tight. Blair is an edge backrower. As a result he isn't meant to do the same job as those players and shouldn't be compared to those either.
Blair was fantastic tonight.
So many good things he does go unnoticed. His pressure on kickers is...
Moltzen will be out for a week - too much risk.
Lawrence will be a Syndesmosis tear of the upper ankle (same as what Gareth and Lote did last year) - unfortunately this will be a 4-6 week injury
BMM - unsure depends if an impact fracture or just bruising, i would suggest a week minimum
I dont...
I do agree, as I said I'm driving to show support. The fact still remains though that there are no excuses and if fans do not show up, it does little to support the push for 6 games.
Tomorrow Campbelltown supporters of Wests Tigers have their chance to show why they should be considered for 6 games in Campbelltown. This is their chance to show they really want 6 games and It's not all paper talk, politicians and protests.
Sunday afternoon for the first time in over two...
Who is going to the SFS tomorrow to support and watch our boys beat Souths.
Sunday Arvo at the Footy Stadium doesn't get much better and the club always does a good job of entertainment on Heritage Round games.
I will be there with 12 others- cant wait!
Glad people enjoyed notes.
Ink, i do agree with you.
The examples you use are exactly what I was referring to in my post. The club has no real control over these designs. The issue here is the NRL approving designs that don't fit guidelines, club has no involvement in this process. The club...
