HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

If we are to believe the runours HBG don’t like the Balmain side of the merger and want them gone, they don’t like the Campbelltown connection and want them gone.
So what are we saying, they want the club to be called the Western Suburbs Magpies, play out of Lidcombe Oval with around 500 fans attending home games and no junior clubs to feed into the NRL team ?
Who honestly makes this stuff up ?
Are they also planning on having flying pigs for the halftime entertainment?
Thank god it’s now with the NRL to make an informed decision on what happens moving forward to stop all this guess work and innuendo.
What happens if PVL concludes that the NRL licence is ok to stay with Wests Leagues PROVIDING they make changes,remove any perpetrators and work amicably with the CEO and rugby league club staff moving forward ?
Based on what I’ve been reading there would be many who still won’t be happy, will throw their toys out iof the cot and likely paint PVL as a villain.
The common sense way of thinking would be we have raised plenty of attention with our dissatisfaction, we will raise even more attention with the upcoming march/rally, let the NRL decide what is best for Wests Tigers moving forward and accept their decision even if it is not exactly what we want.

can I tweak this a bit.

So Sharks. Hire Craig Fitzgibbons dad as GM. Can Fitzgibbon snr manage a club? maybe. But I can guarantee you it's his surname that got him the job.

Look the boards "independance" away from stupid club arguments is a step in the right direction.
The focus or return of this Stupid BS in our club, and not how we get our first grade side performing better.


We need to split the board. half focused on football with Athletic minded people and half focused on growing the club. Pascoe/Lee H etc actually did a fair bit in growing the club financially, we were in total shambles before them. What they did wrong is not dedicate enough resources to improving our performance (Wressling/tacking coach anyone?), line up a coach succession (failing to appoint Shane Flanagan as an assistant)... etc.



No more wests/balmain stupid arguments. But likewise, we need to focus around building culture and that is getting the right football heads involved.

Ignore the rumours …just concentrate on what happened … HBG have removed the management team ( with the CEO on the way out) that in their first year assembled a playing group that got away from the wooden spoon and delivered a profit …both were the first time in several years this happened ..

The reasons they have put up for these actions seem illogical at best …and don’t really stand up to scrutiny

I’d focus on this rather than what some anonymous person says on social media

Free Membership numbers went through the roof under their leadership …

the club was still losing money under them and the team was a shambles on the field and a joke in the media … I don’t think they improved anything …

Sure, a theory that conveniently portrays HBG as sensible and competent despite over a decade of evidence to the contrary. Which one do you think is a the more logical reason for removing the video:

It contains defamatory statements about the three independent directors who are threatening legal actions. Not to mention HBG just had to pay out one of their own former director, Rick Wayde.

Or

They're a bit embarrassed because the NRL is investigating Richo after one of their little stooges ran to the NRL IU at the most suspiciously convenient time.

Further highlights HBG poor decision making without due diligence and planning. Zero care for the Wests Tigers but only HBG.

The same statement they retracted talked about unity and strategy - something of which as the true leaders they claim to be, have yet shown.

Sack the independents, support statement for Richo, club statement generic, follow up statement with clear stance change on Richo, retract statement in less than a week.

They used the LO decision made months ago for a venue we have been at all our existence of the JV & in same statement mentioned Balmain will not be leaving the JV.

So it’s not the decision or lack of communication - they chose the excuse. They have lost the decision power they once had. Which was the point of independence and Richo agreeing to come onboard.

My theory is they lost the decision power & hate it - they freaked out and reacted. It also is evident as to timing - after no direct action, flip flopping and lack of constructive what next actions.

We will all have a view / theory.

So in other words you have no answer to the questions in my previous post ?
The grand plan is Western Suburbs Magpies back in the NRL playing at Lidcombe Oval in front of 500 people with flying pigs at halftime and a circus tent out the back.
The NRL would fully endorse that.

My guess is that’s the plan. If Wests Tigers can perform poorly and remain a laughing stock for just 4 more years then they can justify a rebrand to Magpies in 2030.
