Not a vital point, but interesting you mention Denis's hairdo. I was speaking to an ex Magpies first grader this morning, and he mentioned he'd met Dennis years ago at Lidcombe oval . . . and for some reason patted him, or "ruffed him up" on his head . . . and he said it was def a wig. He distinctly recalled it shifting in his hands and he felt terrible having "exposed" it.
