Our biggest problem is the lack of talent coming through the pathways as a development club to back up those signings, as regular FGers. All those players would get readily picked up by other clubs and are key to us remaining competitive.
The reality is we are buggered across the park so its difficult to focus on just one or two players and their contribution. Its easy to compare F1 drivers when they have the same car, however its hard to compare them when they are in different teams. This is true for NRL players as well, Bula frustrates me as he does poke his nose through, however seems to go to ground as soon as a hand is placed on him. He needs to improve his strength through the hips and middle. However saying he aint worth the money is a bit difficult as he is does not create shape, and never has been that type of player, he takes advantage of it, and when you are not creating good shape out of your 7 and 6 its not easy for him to shine. The only 2 players i can really single out for our insipid attack over the last few weeks are our 7 & 6, in that order. Our Pigs seem to be able to get us into the attacking zone, however our halves seem to go to water once there.
No doubt we can and should be doing better in the pathways space, but all things equal, we have produced plenty of NRL players, including regular NRL players over the past few years.
So are you telling me if we had Ashton Ward at halfback for our last 2 games we would have beat the Dragons and been more competitive against the Warriors?

Cody walker is the dominant playmaker at souths, unfortunately we don't have that, they also have a strong 13 who gets a fast play the ball away and some good edge backrowers and centers. The point I am trying to make is focusing on individual players when the team is struggling across the park with injuries and a lack of depth is probably simplifying the issue. Yes we have probably over paid based on the current performances, however these performances are also a reflection of the whole team and As i said earlier the only 2 positions i would feel comfortable pointing a finger at right now are the 6 & 7, our middles are not being dominated to say our playmakers are playing off the back foot, however once the halves and middle break down its hard to say your outside backs and fullback are not performing.
Based on that theory we should get rid of all our halves and sign Ashton Ward and Jayden Sullivan as they played on a team that scored 30 points without a problem.
A lot of people agree with the concept of one home ground. You Suzie seem to be one that actually goes out to support the team across our different home grounds.
I grew up in the inner west and I know plenty of Wests Tigers fans from the area who never miss a Leichhardt Oval game, but think it’s beyond them to head any further west than Ashfield.
