Just re-watched the 1st episode again. Noted Mbye's first comment. Pretty sure I know now who the eggshell comments come from. This guy is poison and needs to leave now.

I agree, he’s a deadset Judas to this club…. On panels on Fox you get this bubbly spontaneous “footy brain” and then you see him run out looking miserable taking every soft option and it makes me sick.. has he taken on the line with intent even 1 time this season? Made break? Put the line in doubt even? Has a had a try assist? Even 1?, or any -post contact metres or stung anyone in defence? Has he even looked like making a line break or even accelerated into the defence once? Dummied even? Truly, what the hell has Mbye done to justify getting a run in first grade at all? Seriously he must be one hell of a survivor like presence in the dressing room and at training because he has left nothing out on the field at all! Zip, zero, Zilch ….Nada!

Maybe I’m missing the point but my take was the following.

* Madge is focussed on belief, while that is great and I do think every player needs more work around sports psychology, I would have liked to come away from the first episode thinking he is master tactician rather than a nice guy.

* I found the focus on Pasco interesting, it made me think this is his strategy/idea.

* Mbye interviewed very well, Tamou looked somewhat awkward.

Something about the whole thing just felt a bit off, why the Tigers? As others have said, I think it might be a sales pitch.

Not sure I would have bothered watching if not for being a supporter of the club.

It's more interesting viewing to see a club that's struggling turn around - maybe that's what they thought would happen.

Madge definitely seems to be focused on belief and "putting in for each other". I think he comes across quite well overall, but to me that's vague and lacks direction. How do you put in for each other? As a boss at work, do you say "you just need to work harder"?

When we build pressure, when we don't force passes, when we don't give away stupid penalties on 4th and 5th tackles, we win, or push the better teams right to the limit. When we don't, we don't. I can think of 3 to 4 games we were well and truly in to win against better teams this year, then back-to-back stupid errors cost the team. Holding the ball is key. Completing sets is key.

I also wasn't overly-impressed with Brook's input when Madge asked. Didn't seem confident in his delivery - not sure he's someone you want doing the talking in a change room.

Was round 1.

And he was spot on with his assessment.

We were too slow to get into formation when in the attacking zone and Williams defence was a weakness unfortunately our line runners kept running at Hudson young instead that game.

Just expanding on this.
We tried to use the exactly same play that worked in the trial against manly with LL running off a Brooks short ball and Laurie sweeping around.
Does anyone think we showed our hand too early?

In hindsight that play would have been really good to keep up our sleeve to try and jag a win round one.

Unfortunately it seemed the boys were too keen to test out their preseason plays in a game where the result didn’t matter.

Oh well.

Just watched it.
Enjoyed it very much and found myself riding the team again in game footage.
Something like this makes it very easy to buy into the club and the Broncos win was important for this... More wind around the time the next episodes air will be very important for the club imo in term ls of membership and support.

I still feel we are a long way behind the other clubs facilities and professianality wise

We are a very young team and that's something Madge has stressed often... It's something that was evident during ep 1

Having read the thread first s ome of the criticisms here made
me laugh... No probs with Pascoe, madges assistants we didn't see nowhere near enough to make a fair assessment imo.

We're lucky they chose us and while the Storm game footage may be embarrassing I don't think
there will be any more embarrassing moments

👍👍👍 WTs well done

Back in the late 90's a mate of mine trained a horse that was near enough favourite for the Melbourne Cup and the ABC ran a multi-part series following his preparation over a couple of months.

In the end the horse ran mid-field. He always regretted putting himself in the position where effectively he increased the pressure on himself and the stable.

Hhhmmmm was it Yipiyiyo??

I finally watched the first episode on the weekend.

I would have preferred that it included some vision from training. Found it hard to judge Madge, based on the vision it seemed a lot of buzz words and themes.

So is it on tonight or is it the sticky special.

Not on till after the Olympics

Any idea the actual time?

I can see some "extended cuts" uploaded on watchnrl right now. Extensive interviews with Madge and Ronnie. Maybe just extras.

That was gonna be my second guess
Had a couple of goes right?

Yes, 98 and 99. I think the documentary was done for the 99 prep. 62 starts for 21 wins. Won 4 Chipping Nortons in a row and amassed over $6 million in prizemoney.

Great horse.

Sandy Tait and Guy Walter trainer
Great Sydney champion couldn't get it done in Victoria though

Yes, Tait & Nivison were very loyal clients of his. I noticed a horse racing last week (Pensera) by Pierro out of Streama - another great mare that he trained.
