Hi guys,

I just got confirmation from Koss Sports (X Blades Aust) that they will not make the Heritage Jersey because they made the pink jerseys.

If you disagree with this decision, can you please reply with comments of why it is wrong and if you would buy the heritage jersey and how many (fam/friends)?

I want to direct Tigers and Koss Sports (X Blades Aust) to this thread (and similar, if you could link to specific posts) to show the negative effect this decision has on the fan base as well financially justify the production.

If you could also give direct feedback to Tigers management and Koss Sports it may help them change their minds.

Cheers,
Sash

I am pretty certain i have seen the black and gold balmain heriage jersey at some games this year (has meriton sponsership on it) i could be wrong. The magpies heritage jersey that will be worn in round 22 i have not seen on anyone. The 2010 heritage jerseys with proton/mkb sponsors are on the clearance rack at gearzone campbelltown

That would be a Balmain one from the late 90's. Similar design and same sponsor.

Shame they are not realising them as I was holding out for them to come out as I feel they are both great designs. The pink one is rubbish can't see them selling many - especially in the mens sizes

Agreed.. For a club with 200 years of combined history and fan base for Balmain & Magpies

Heritage jerseys should be just as important as the others

and its also another money spinner for the club

The official reply from Koss Sports:

Thanks for providing your opinion and I would like to clarify what the current sales result has been.

New Home and Away jerseys have been the best ever for a new release jersey and we are working hard to increase production capacity.

The pink jersey was sold out in advance after 4 days of going to the retailers as it was impossible to produce any further quantity within the time frame for delivery schedules.

Sascha we sold more of the pink jersey in 4 days than the quantity of both heritage jerseys over the last 2 years. There will always be a place for heritage jerseys and I expect these to be made available again next season but I like the fact we are helping to raise awareness & funds for breast cancer and the team plays to its potential on Friday night as they are far better team than the Bulldogs.

I think that people are excited about the new direction but also understand your comments. I only hope you accept this information in a positive manner and support the decisions based on the results so far.

In response I replied that I do support the club in raising awareness of breast cancer but that jerseys do not have team colours and as such are only a novelty.

I was surprised by the claims about sales figures because those pink jerseys are displayed at all the stores I go to as if they've never been touched and there is plenty of supply in all sizes. I heard there was plenty at Leichhardt yesterday also and they didn't seem to be "selling out". If they are selling, I wonder who is wearing them cause I haven't even seen one lady in one (Just the photo of Lote & his wife & that was just for the media).

Regardless, this is not pink jersey vs heritage jersey (that is what the club and/or Koss Sports have come up with as some kind of competing agenda).

The Heritage jersey was worn this year, the heritage jersey looks good, there is demand and they should produce for the fans.

So call/email/facebook/twitter the Tigers management, the 2 Tigers stores at Concord and Campbelltown, Koss Sports (X Blades) and retailers such as Peter Wynns, Mick Simmons and especially Rebel Sports. I know Rebel has the 2011 Balmain Heritage Jersey in their computer, they will place orders if there is demand being registered by customers.

I bought the pink one yesterday, I love it. There were plenty of women wearing them, most had bought the mens sizes as they are more comfortable.

In saying that I hate the fact that the heritage jerseys are not for sale! Are they kidding, they would make a fortune :crazy :crazy :crazy

The 2011 Heritage jerseys are excellent. I'd gladly see them as the only jerseys. Where can I buy one?

IMO the fluoro orange 2011 jerseys are crap. The white Tiger alternate jersey is a little better.

The pink jerseys are a novelty item, albeit for a good cause.

What a crock of crap !!!

As if the pink jerseys have outsold Heritage jerseys of years gone by !!!!

What crap !!!

Bring on the 2011 Balmain & Wests heritage jerseys and they will outsell everything !!

I will go to Goodfellas and get them to make one for me if I have to !

Humphreys your decision making is a disgrace.

Get over it. Surely if the heritage means that much to you buy a retro one or surely you should have an original one in the first place. I personally think the Wests Tigers need just 2 shirts, the current orange and the white ones are very good. The Pink special edition is a nice touch, will be unique and the money goes to charity.

The sooner the club and fans leave this divided infighting and pettiness over the colour of the shirts the better. Sorry but you have to understand that Balmain and the Magpies are memories and in the past. The sooner you all realize this the better and we can as one support the Wests Tigers.

I was very surprised at how slow the merchandise release was this year seems like poor planning and organising. The pink jersey is for a good cause and deserves support. Disappointing the heritage jerseys are not being produced, glad I have mine from last year which I will wear to the SCG.
I fully support the Wests Tigers first and foremost but am happy to recognise the heritage of both Wests and Balmain during the NRL scheduled Heritage round.

If they say they don't sell well… I have to think they don't sell?? I have an old wests jersey, and that's why I don't buy a heritage jersey..
I would rather buy a retro one with the victa sponsor on it.

Iron Tiger , you are wrong. There is almost 200 years of history with Balmain and Wests. Dont ignore it brother, go with it.

I'm not ignoring it i just don't care. I'm a Wests Tigers supporter and that's that. There is 11 years of Heritage not 200.

Thousands of people do care though.

Maybe we have saturated the market.
5 or 6 different jerseys year after year….when often the only difference is the advertising on it.
You'd think they wouldnt let such a lucrative part of the income - merchandise- just slip by without an research or forethought, wouldnt you?

Wouldnt you?

Maybe.

Who knows.

Nice of the supplier to tell us whats going on, the club arent always so forthcoming

Well they needs to get over it and understand it's not going to go back to the way it was.

Life goes on

So why do we play in them?

Your point is ridiculous, no one said anything about ''going back to the way it was. ''

I am disappointed they are not sell both heritage jeserys this year. They are my favourite jesery.

I tried to buy the Balmain one after the Souths game and was disappointed it was not for sale. The high everyone was on after destroying Souths they would have sold out those jeserys in a week.

Hopefully we can also destroy the Saints wearing the Magpies heritage jesery at the SCG.

Embrace the 200 years of combined history.. Dont ignore it or forget it. How many old victa magpies jerseys or philips balmain jerseys do you see at games??? Its passionate fans remembering the team they grew up with WITHIN the team they follow in 2011\. Embrace it and respect it like other clubs do.
