Always thought Daniel Anderson was a terrific coach. Absolutely terrible what happened to him becoming a quadriplegic. Still believe he’s involved in the game with Roosters recruitment.

lets all hold hands n rejoiceWell that’s probably right, but Benji is the head coach and they are meant to do his bidding.
So my idea is one where their isn’t any direct power relationship involved. Benji can speak freely about his own shortcomings and discuss his errors without any consequence.
Can we have a sing along to?lets all hold hands n rejoice
remember when f tel had 4 versions/angles you watched the game ?,in the 80s opposition teams from local comps were perched up a tree or dunny roof filmingIt was how simplistic the advice was, he was literally telling an NFL head coach where to stand so he can see what the QB sees.
I could have given him that advice and I think an NFL coach should have that understanding.
D Pay would b the type of assistant we need, treated like crap(1st up),easy going hard edge, read his prior resume b4 dog's n he aint no slouch, sentiment in league lol,he got them were they needed to be on the budget they had n deserved in my opinion to stay spend the $$$ when availableI might've misread the post I was replying to, but it suggested Pay as a tackling coach, which is why I implied we need someone better in that area. We already have both a defensive coach and a wrestling coach, as @BlackWhiteGold confirmed in the signings thread. Steven Babic formerly with the Raiders, Eels and Brumbies, is currently our wrestling coach.
I was actually alluding to how teams like Melbourne have gained an edge from wrestling or tackling coaches with an MMA background. That these coaches offer advanced techniques and strategies in tackling and grappling due to their specialised training and experience.Hinting that we could benefit from having similar expertise.Sorry for any confusion.
Yep, I agree with you about Benji saying it was his rookie year. He definitely said it in a post-match presser probably the 2nd last game or last game of this season.Benji has said it that it’s his rookie year at least a couple of times during his press conferences. You can sift through them.
That’s using his inexperience as an excuse. He’s happy to do so. A matter for him.
Robbie had a squabble about Api:
Here we go:

He will fit in right well then. But I cannot underestimate Hodgo. Wayne Pearce did. The rest is history.
No to Hodgo. I wouldn't mind Holbrook however
How did I miss Brett Hodgson? 😜Pat Richards
Ben Galea
Scott Prince
Just a thought?
I would think there'd be mutual respect between benji and luai. This is where I think people underestimate the value of signing Luai. He is the leader on the field that can work with coaching staff strategically from the players perspective. Someone that's been there and done it, many times before.Iiuai will bring alot of experience and ideas... 3or 4 premiership years worth
Do we think. Marshall will listen to him or let him have input next year if. Luiai thinks it's appropriate for the situation
No go, Benji really doesn't get much say in who the assistant is.This is a theory about who the new assistant coach may be. I was listening to Woodsy's podcast with Chris Lawrence (I posted the link in the Signing Rumours & Suggestions thread) and he talks about how so many current NRL coaches & assistants were players under Sheens.
I wonder whether Benji wants the new assistant to have this experience so it's an easier transition to coach the style he wants to coach.
And I'm going a step further by reducing the list to players who Benji played with given he big he is on trust.
So 3 names I'll put forward under this theory are ...
- Brett Hodgson (name already dropped to Brent Read last week)
- Gareth Ellis
- Scott Prince (current Broncos NRLW coach, in semi-finals for 2nd consecutive year)
Another one who wasn't a player under Sheens but an assistant coach to him for one season (when Benji played in that team in 2012)
- Steve Georgallis (current Eels NRLW coach)
No go, Benji really doesn't get much say in who the assistant is.
Richo will identify the gaps in the coaching and conditioning roster and will fill them with the best applicants he can. Benji will be involved in an interview phase but benji doesn't get to shortlist options.
I would think anyone who's played with Benji is automatically ruled out.
We need an experienced coach with a proven track record of success. Especially in defence.
He would be mad not to - chief play maker and coach not on the same page is a recipe for disaster. I expect Api would be in that meeting as well along with the assistanct coaches.Iiuai will bring alot of experience and ideas... 3or 4 premiership years worth
